"NEW YORK -- The Yankees will open the 2010 season against the Red Sox, in prime time. Major League Baseball announced that the heated rivalry will start the baseball season on April 4, at 8 p.m. on ESPN 2.

It's only the second time ever that a Sunday night matchup between the rivals will mark the beginning of a season. The teams last opened the season on a Sunday night in 2005 at Yankee Stadium"
