ive seen a bunch of these episodes. Kind of enjoyed them as they bring in all kinds of different things and end up with a value on them. Never really thought about it until they started talking about something i actually knew about. Somebody brought in a middle 70s Bally pinball machine. as a collector, buyer and seller and restorer i actually know what Im talking about. the prices they threw around were rediculous! they bought it for too much. like twice its worth. they paid somebody 4x its worth to restore it. their final value of the mahine was anyhere to 4 to 8 times what that machine was worth and Ive bought and sold dozens of them. all i could say was 'bullsheet! theres a pretty close 'clique" of pinball collectors out there. theres also a guy in vegas named tim arnold who probably has one of if not THE largest collections in the world, he has open house at his warehouse and charity tournaments and things like that. i dont know who the "retorer" was but his rep just got shot. ending up with a 5000$ '72 pinball....good freaaking luck!
to say i was dissapointed was right on. so if theyre way off on the one subject im a expert on, what about the things i dont know about. so now i cant trust what they say.
oh well. dont believe everything you see on tv folks! boooo
