Not all you are going to remember the circumstances that prompted Rich and a few of his friends to start this board.   The old board was a mess.   Remember the Cowboys of two years ago?,  we were worse.   The nastiness was not just intense, it was over the top and threatened to wipe out whatever merit that board might have offered at one time.

I remember starting a thread and saying I was leaving until they cleaned it up.  It was not long after that Rich started this place.  It was an instant success and also served to force the old place to clean up their act. I quess it's some four years now (three??) and the board over here continues to improve.  I don't think anyone could reasonably have expected it to become as good as it's become.    Conversations are based on keen knowledge and expertly presented.  Many posts put the sportwriters to shame.  Points are debated without getting personalized or too feverish.  Most importantly, I think divergent opinions are respected and not cast away as if they had no merit.  The recent newcomers have raised the level of the board with their contributions in a way that I couldn't have imagined.  To be honest, outside of our little group I didn't think there was that much talent out there.  Well there was.

I don't post as often as I used to and that's simply because everything I might feel I have to contribute has usually allready been said and said better than I could do it.  But I sure do read everything and continue to learn from the posters here and to find my basic appreciation for the game being enhanced.

Seldom does a creation of any kind meet the expectations and hopes that spawned it.  Well, you've done that Rich and Vette, Len and Painter and the rest of you, and I thought I'd take a moment and send some kudos your way.  Thanks , Guys.

Guys there is so much that goes into a successful board, that I don't deserve the credit.  First off the members posting are what makes a board good or bad.  If it wasn't for the knowledgeable and thoughtful fans there would be no board.  Secondly I want to acknowledge Pat from Inside Football and all the great members that came over from the Tailgate club.  They have been a great addition to the group and have only made things better.  Finally I want to acknowledge all the moderators Ed Vette, Big Hitter, JimV, Retro, Lenn, RemembersHuff and the tech admins Jim. Cr00zng and T200.   I would also like to thank members who have made special efforts to help the board and help it grow like Kmed who has assisted me with my recruiting efforts and Spider who does his great camp reports and UKGiants for his special draft evaluation efforts.   There are so many that have made important contributions and I am sure I have left some of you guys out.  For that I apologize in advance.

Rich

That all said, I think we are still open to new ideas and what can be improved upon.

Grizz, my friend, you make me blush, but thanks for the kind words.

This place has turned out EXACTLY how we wanted. When we decided to create this board, we knew exactly what we wanted in a posting place. Not a lot of rules, just good solid posters who respect everyone else's opinions. Who can disagree with anyone, but do it in a classy way. We have become a true family away from our real families. And I also echo what has already been said about the Tailgaters. They are exactly what we were seeking, more classy posters who know the game of football.
As Rich said, we may have set this place up, but it is YOU the posters who have made it what it is. We could have inherited a crew like what we ran away from at BBWC, but instead we got the best of the best.

Thank YOU all for making this place as great at it is.

I hate to include the word NASTY, but that is part of being a winning football team.

Grizz, as a Tailgater, I was part of a small, tight, knowledgeable, passionate group of Giant Fans. Admittedly I had my doubts re; the transition to Big Blue huddle. I (we) were very comfortable there. Well, it came time to change, so here I am, a proud member of this Board. It's everything I hoped it would be.

I enjoy the distinct pleasure of mixin'' it up daily with guys just like me, Giant Fans whom really care. I find the wealth of shared knowledge inexhaustible. Just simply stoked to be part of the magic that occurs here on a regular basis. To all those that make it possible, thank you very much.

I honestly don't remember the URL to the old board.  That should say how much I go there now.  I just remember having to avoid that place for days/weeks after a loss.

I very much enjoy the camaraderie on this board. The knowledge here is absolutely tremendous. Rich and his team do one hell of a fine job. The best migrated here from BBWC and the Tailgaters are super. So lucky to have them here. I admit to reading their early posts with a jaundiced eye- thinking who are these guys. Well, now I know, they are great and most valuable members of  the BBH family.
On a personal note, my Significant Other was very sick two years ago and I got so many Personal Messages from the people here who knew about her condition asking how they could help and giving me extremely positive vibes. Something I will never forget.
Yes, I am proud to be a card carrying member of the Big Blue Huddle. Nobody can hold a candle to us. We are the best.
With that said- you never can tell what souvenirs I will bring to Fishkill this year!

There really is a lot to be said about the company you keep. As Harry Truman said, "It's amazing what you can accomplish when no one cares who gets the credit." Still, it is quite fitting to acknowledge Rich's initiative, and that of his aids-de-camp, in giving those of us of good will and sincere intention the opportunity to prove that we can be passionate without being petulant. It was not without purpose and hope that this board was first named, Big Blue Gentlemen. While the name has been changed, it does appear to have been a hope realized. I know that I feel that I am in the company of gentlemen; tough minded Giants fans but fair and always considerate ones. That's the company I am happy to keep.

Cheers!

I'll add my two cents worth by saying that I can't fully express my appreciation for this site.  It's just fabulous.  Thanks to all who had a hand in bringing us over from Inside Football.

I've really found a home here.

God Bless you all.

Agreed. The only posting board other than FB I belong to and I only spend a few minutes a day on FB. This is fun for me. Especially when I need a break or good insight into a story. Great opinions here.

I'll accompany that echo of sentiment. Which gives me the opportunity to mention that those of you who haven't yet met some your friends here should give it due consideration.

We have shared a great deal, from joy and triumph to defeat and sorrow. We have lost some good friends along the way and have made a few more.

We have gotten together at Training camp in Albany for about 5 years now. We have met up to catch away games at mutually convenient Sports Pubs and many of us have Tailgated together before a number Giants home games.

When we get together, each and everyone of you is enthusiastically invited to come. I know I speak for everyone who has ever attended one of these functions when I say, the more the merrier.

Thank you for being a part of our little community here. As Rich and Len have said, your contribution and participation is what makes this all worthwhile.
