Herzlich and Umenyiora are out

Herzlich and Umenyiora are out. Manningham doubtful, did not practice. Boley and Bradshaw questionable after limited practice. #NYG

I'm rooting for Herzlich -- both for him and the team -- but he's looked BAD the last two weeks.

He's been thrown into a bad situation (little LB help around him) with little to no experience. He's not going to look good until he gets some more reps with the 1st team...which is why I'm bummed.

Well, we all knew Herzlich's status was muddy when they signed Blackburn. Every time I see Tolly play I want to see him play more, so no worries there.

What about Bradshaw?

The Coach sees the glass as half full. The Media sees the glass as half empty. The Fans can't understand why we have a glass that is twice as big as it needs to be.

What troubles me is Mark was barely on the field and he is already out.  This team needs to find players who are less injury prone, and this is not a great start for Mark.

Looking forward to Hezzy developing during the OTA's etc.  Does he or does he not have the wheels to be a 4-3 LB, I am still not certain but he is a heck of an athlete.

I'd say Herzlich looked better than any other MLB the Giants threw out on the field this season.  He at least played with some passion and easily was the fastest after J. Williams.  Greg Jones runs like he's got cement boots on his feet.  Herzlich was the best blitzer of the group and a very sure tackler.  I too wanted to see him get more playing time and a chance to develop heading into next season.  Hopefully this is just a 1 week injury and he can get back out there.  Boley better be ready to go, cause if Greg Jones sees more than 5 snaps he will be beaten mercilessly and left for dead by Rodgers and Finley.

The bad news just keeps coming.  Herzlich was going thru growing pains, but he was playing his heart out.  As for Osi, I'm not sure we're losing an awful lot.  I think he's a shell of what he used to be and the defensive line, well, it appears good money poorly spent.  They may have had success at the beginning of the year, but that success has faded.  They are getting manhandled.   Sunday is probably going to be a repeat of Monday night, maybe even worse.

Osi, Jacobs, and Mckenzie are big money players whose best days are in the rearview mirror. I would shed all their contracts to help land a high quality guard , tackle, or linebacker next year. A dline of ends of JPP, Tuck, Kiwi, and Tolly is fine by me.

I thought Herzy played okay considering his lack of prep. He put a couple licks on Brees. Each time he was a 1/2 step late for the Sack.
Credit Brees there.

Andrew, unless this is a bad high ankle sprain, Herzy should be back for the last three games. I too get stoked @ the thought of watchin' this Rook LB develop.

The more I hear re; Mario, the worse it sounds (as in IR). Upside is we have Barden to replace him.

g.g., Osi did us a favor. We no longer have to go through the motions with him. I'm good with JPP Kiwi, & Tolley @ DE down the stretch.

bama, I don't think TC will be able to keep Ahmad off the field. Considering his job (& those of his staff) hangs in the balance, why would he?

With Tuck playing at 50% give or take, Osi has been given a ton of attention from the opposing offense over the last few weeks.  Double teams, chips from the RBs, he's the guy taking the focus of the offense.  Considering the rest of the group could not take advantage of that, it's more a sign of the weakness as a group than the weakness of an individual.

I think those 3 are gone although Osi is at a below market price.  Just hoping the Giants can get at least a #2 for Osi.

A few monsters the size of Marcus Cannon are going to be available in the draft.  I think this OL was greatly assisted by the huge Andrews last season and will greatly benefit from at least one large body (perhaps two).

Herzlich did a decent job.  He showed that unlike most of the LB'ers we've seen since 2008 that he has solid football instincts.  I don't think long term he is a MLB in a 4-3, but think he could be an ILB in a 3-4.  I don't think he'll ever be an impact player like he had the potential to be before he got sick but do think he could be a solid player.
