Rumors have been flying around that the Green may be interested in a Manning of their own. Can you just imagine Peyton playing for the Greenies??. Talk is, he would be a good influence on Sanchez and batten down the QB position for a couple of more years.
99% it won't happen, but those are the rumors.

Hell will freeze over first.

Is my math right? Everyone they needed to lose lost, so they would have snuck into the playoffs with a win?

I believe the Jets needed a loss by TN and that didn't happen

yup the Tenn win would have toasted them....

I don't view MS as regressing since I never put him in the upper echelon of QB's..

What I do think is that he showed no growth this year and if I was a NYJ fan I would be very nervous about that....it's not too late for MS but it isn't so early anymore...

They are not there with Boyz, Iggles and Skinz for me but I do enjoy watching the NYJ fail...much more so with Rex around

as far as Manning goes...yeah they could say they want him but I can't see Indy not picking up option to get some return if they decide to go with Luck....and I don't think the NYJ have much beyond Revis to offer (and they wouldn't offer him of course)...they tend to Cowboyize their players.....a lot of hype for average guys

Phil Simms would tell anyone that is willing to listen being a game manager QB is not as easy as it seems.  For one thing you don't have a very big margin for error as the majority of your throws are must complete.  Secondly because of the limited throwing you don't get a chance to get into the flow of the game.

As I said before I expect a new OC.   I would expect the new OC will have a reputation for developing QBs and/or running a QB friendly system.

I think it's more like Sanchez hasn't developed into that upper echelon QB rather than he's regressed.  His rating and TD's are up while his yardage is almost the same.  Last year he stole a few games from opponents late and this year he didn't.
