Plaxico and  Steve Smith combined had 736 receiving yards this season, compared to 1,536 for Cruz, more than DOUBLE the guys who went slip-sliding away. Ballard had 604 yards, Boss had only 368. Not bad tradeoffs.

Of course it's all great now. Still Reese took a gamble that players like Cruz and Ballard would step up.
