Whales, you are right. Baltimore GM Ozzie Newsome was also with the Ravens in 2000. I believe back then he was Director of Player Personnel. He is a HOF tight end who played most of his career with the Browns.
Brandon Stokley was the player I referred to as having accidentally contributed to one team's success this year. Most of us remember his 37 yard touchdown catch that opened the scoring for the Ravens in Super Bowl XXXV. That was the play where Jason Seahorn wiped out, allowing Stokley to score untouched. Early this season, after the Giants suffered injury troubles at wide receiver, they signed Stokley as a stop-gap to play the slot position. He made his one and only catch for seven yards in the first Eagle game, then left with a season-ending injury. This forced the Giants to play the untried Victor Cruz as the slot receiver. The rest is, as they say, all history.
