Wearing the Colors
« on: January 28, 2012, 01:56:43 PM »
So, I'm seeing a lot of Giants gear being worn out there lately. I guess they either picked up a few fans along the way or it's the band wagon.

Where were these fans all year long? I happen to know that Lenn wears that NYG hat wherever he goes. He even wore it to his son's wedding, ain't that right Lenny?

Ed:  I was going to post something like this too.  Adam went the the movies last night and said he saw several people wearing Giants gear.  Most of the time he and I are about the only ones wearing the colors.  He was wondering where all these Giants fans were all year.

Which brings me to another matter.  Here in western NYS I'd say the fan breakdown is about 60% Bills, and 20% each Browns and Steelers fans.   And a smattering of other teams Giants included making up a small percentage.  If the Bills, Browns and Steelers fans have one thing in common it is their hatred of the Patriots.  I am getting all kinds of best wishes for the Giants and hope they kill New England.  Every where I go wearing my Giants jacket I am getting GO GIANTS.   Feels strange.

Not quite the same, but earlier today I got handed a business card from a Mormon when I was returning home from my Mum and Dad's.

I don't think this young man would have looked at me twice had I not been wearing my blue hat with white embroidered 'ny'.

I always wear my all Black hat with White And Red Logo. Leading up to the SF game I wore lots of Giants gear.  since we beat them and live in the bay area , I went back to the less noticeable hat.   I kinda wanna live to see the Super Bowl.   I can't do Jerseys,  I don't have the body type I look like a child in his Dads shirts.  Ha

I regularly wear the T-Shirts and the Jacket on days off. I started to wear the 2007 NFC Conference Championship hat for the Dallas game and once the playoffs started and now I think I need to wear the 2007 Superbowl Championship Hat for the Superbowl. What do you think? I don't want to break the luck.

Where I live (Eastern Iowa) the week leading up to the Packers/Giants game, there were a lot of people sporting Packers gear - moreso than usual. My dad (a long time Packer fan) said he didn't notice others wearing Packers gear but everywhere I went I saw people wearing hats, shirts, sweatshirts, coats, etc with the Packers name, helmet and/or logo on them. I was guessing a lot of them were probably bandwagon riders since up to that point, GB only had one loss. I've only seen one other person wearing Giants gear where I live and I've only seen him once in a very great while.

I have several Giants ball caps I chose from.  See far more Pats stuff up here in Maine.  And when I am in my truck, my license plate says it all.

I am seeing more Giants colors than I remember here in Northwest Florida.  Could be because it's "Snowbird" season.

The Giants coat I wear to late season games is the one I wear during the Winter all the time I've had it foer about six years).  I also have lighter Giant jackets for Spring & Fall.  I have several Giant caps that I wear all year long.  I also wear my SB XLII sweatshirt a lot; it really ticks off the phony Pats fans up here.  The REAL: Pats fans aren't bothered at all.

You got that right Ed. Well maybe not to the wedding, although I think I did have a Giants T Shirt on, under my suit.

Most who know me, know I wear my colors all year round, win, lose or draw. I never leave home without my Giants cap (I have about 5 that I alternate with) and where ever I travel, any pix taken of me, It is always with my Giants cap.
I was out the other day and a gentleman commented on my Giants sweatshirt, saying everyone is wearing this stuff now. I replied, yes that is right, but not me, I wear this all year round.

If anyone gets Newsday as their newspaper, they do a thing on Sundays where they put in a couple of people's vanity liscense plates. Well, next Sunday, Feb 5, I get to grace that page with my GIANTFAN plate. Look me up if you get the paper.
I hate to include the word NASTY, but that is part of being a winning football team.

Not a lot happening over here, a local TK Maxx had Broncos, Pats and 49ers shirts and tees on sale, at decent prices too, but nothing NY, sadly.  Probably knew that I'd have swept the lot.  At £17 ($25) for the jersey and £10 ($15) for the tee, why not.
