Officiating Crew for the Game
« on: February 01, 2012, 02:40:27 PM »
Tom Rock
Also In New York Giants
Here's your Super Bowl officiating crew: JOHN PARRY (referee), CARL PAGANELLI (umpire), TOM STABILE (head linesman), GARY ARTHUR (line judge), GARY CAVALETTO (field judge), LAIRD HAYES (side judge) and TONY STERATORE (back judge).

I really don't know these guys but I hope they're good because I would hate to see a game like this lost on a bad call ....

What's different from a bad call and an INT/fumble?  They're all mistakes by a human being.  You can't take the human out of the game.

Gee Dale, I guess I win. Call me Mr. Nickels.

Yes Ed, you win. I'm glad that John Parry is refereeing. He was the highest rated official for 2011 and I'm sure he will do a good job.
The officials are only noticed if they do a bad job in the vewer's eye.

Like Offensive Linemen.

Unless you happen to be a wack job like me and have the binoculars on the line watching the execution. There is nothing more beautiful than a pulling Guard taking out a linebacker.

Keep your eyes peeled on Mr. Baas and Mr. Woolfork. Could be a key matchup. Hope Mr. Parry doesn't call too many holding penalties. That is his reputtiion you know.

I fear Woolfork will dominate Baas without constant help from the G's. Baas was terrible vs. Niners, he scares me.
I would like to go into next year with a Plan B @ C.

As for the Officials, did any of them work the Packers Regular season game?
Please say no #:-S

Week 13 was Blue Moshik's favorite crew - Jeff (not Mel) Triplette

The difference is that SF lost because of a mistake made by a Niner, and Baltimore lost because of a mistake made by a Raven.  For  team to lose a game because of a mistake made by a third party who isn't part of the team is different.
I'd rather be a disappointed optimist than a vindicated pessimist

I understand what you're trying to say, CA.  But, there are really THREE teams on the field.  The third is, of course the Officials TEAM.  Anyone on any of those teams can make a human error.  It's the same in any sport, not just football.
