He could be a devil worshiper in his private time for all I care, as long as he is a good teammate and performs well on Sunday. There are players on all NFL teams involved in charity, it's not the reason I'm a Giants fan.

Brutally honest. But that's ok by me.
The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will.

Religion really means next to nothing to me, but if it were some social issue I do care about, it would certainly matter to me.  If he were one of those people that refused to pay child support, or beat his kids or his wife/girlfriend, I certainly would care.  It probably would not impact my fandom for the Giants, as there have been plenty of Giants over the years that I did not like for one reason or another.   All the same, its nice to hear he is a classy guy who puts his teammates first.  I would certainly prefer that athletes in the spotlight be nice people.  If they are not, I can deal with it, but given the choice, I prefer all people to be "good."

Guys like this make it so easy to root for the Giants.  There are simply so many good people on the Giants on top of good football players.

Well said my friend.  I not only root for the team, but also for the people that represent it.  If one of them were a devil worshiper, I would NOT root for that person, but would still be a Giants fan.  Actually though, I don't think the Giants would sign a devil worshiper so it's probably a moot point.  After all, the Giants are God's team.

GO GIANTS!

You know, there's a quote from "Moby Dick:"  "If God had a mind to be a fish, He'd be a whale."  Well, "If had a mind to be a football player, he'd be a Giant."
