there is no end to the greed of the nfl. nightgames suck. they arent too bad if you live on the west coast but lets face it, if you have to go to work the next day or you just are a early riser, they just plain suck.

Doesn't the season opener traditionally air on Thursday?  So will there be Thur games every week or are they pushing opening day to Sunday?

there will be 13 of them, week 2 thru 15.....for next year.

I'm sure opening day will be on Thursday, but that will be a network game because they can sell it for a premium.  It will be on Fox, NBC or CBS.  I'm sure they already sold it in the last package.  The NFL network will have weeks 2-15.

We're holding off booking up for next year until Sunday is over.   We win, and we fly out Thursday for the opener, we lose and ...... aaaahhh, unthinkable.

you knew it was inevitable....but I don't like it

I'm naive enough to think that the NFL and CFB should not schedule on the same
days (for the most part)...but that is obviously not going to happen

well jim, if you look at what the nfl is trying to do, they want the same set up for the nfl channel that espn gets. if you buy basic sat or cable your RE getting espn. evryone has to have it and everyone has to pay for it. a part of your payment for the most basics of service goes to the espn cash register. the nfl wants the same for their channel. if i understand it correctly, the cabel companies that dont have the nfl channel refuse to make it a part of their basic service.
 me personelly? i have direct tv. i pay for the footbal package a rediculous amount like veryone else does for it that opts to. i enjoy it even more now that im restricted physically. but man its a luxury. for those that consider 400$ a year just to see your team play, well you and I are very fortunate to be able to swing it.
 i guess goodell was asked about more outside the country games and he was either asked or volunteered the subject of a game in brazil? for gods sake, you make money so fast now you cant keep up with counting it. how about a littel rebate for us fans ? like maybe giving season ticket holders a free game a yeard and the direct tv customers a free game? greedy bastards!
 but i guess thats just the way in the good old US of A!

It looks like college and the nfl are no longer holding hands.  The nfl will beat college everywhere except SEC land. 

The NFL will get 18 games eventually.  After the cap stays stable for the next 2 years, they will tell the players, SEE, let us add in 2 games and watch it go up! Once its clear to the players how much its worth, they will sign up.
