I take your point, GFICO. But the expression, "America's Team" makes me gag. It's hard to believe that after winning exactly one playoff game in the past 16 years, the station which broadcasts the Cows refers to itself as "Home of America's Team". Who are they kidding? But I suppose an argument can be made based on the fact that often the visiting team's fans outnumber Cows fans at home games.

I much prefer the name that all of us here have given to the Giants. Our Team.

Painter, I also hate the moniker.  I used the opportunity to poke at the "pokes" who hold tightly to the belief their team is special.  If I can be a part of taking that away even for 1 week, it will satisfy me.

Dreadful moniker.  I'm surecI watched a clip somewhere where the Patriots were being touted as America's Team.

You probably did, St Marys. The media has tried to hang it on Pittsburgh because of its longevity and level of success. The Rooneys would have none of it. They also tried to make the case for the publicly owned Packers, and yes, for the Pats after they won three Supes in four years.

Good call on Pittsburgh.  It was during the week on NFL Network, an interview with a Patriots employee who suggested the logo, colours and recent domination meant NE should be America's Team. 

For me, it's a poisoned chalice as it would only serve to get opponents fired up to stick it to them.

I am not comfortable with them being the general populous favorites.  Granted, they can still stretch the vegas odds of 3.0 underdogs into a true "underdog" role, but with the majority of the country backing them as well as many of the talking heads, I just dont like it. . .

Greetings from Indy!

Giants fans greatly outnumber Pats fans here from what I have seen.  There are tons of Giants faithful here.  And we also have the support of many fans of other teams too because of their hatred of Tom Brady.  But from what I have seen so far, Indy is a Giants Town!
