Manning For The jets?
« on: February 06, 2012, 02:28:30 PM »
Peyton, obviously.

I'm just wondering, given yet another success for Big Blue, and another Lombardi to be delivered to the Stadium, if the jets try to steal some of our thunder and placate their fan base by going for Peyton.

Thoughts?

If they did then the preseason game with the Jets should be changed to a seven on seven two hand touch game where Eli and Peyton choose up sides just like in the park. It would be just as entertaining as the actual game.

Ma, ma, ma Manning and the Jets!!!!   MANNING!  MANNING! ..  Stuck in my head now...
The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place It will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me or nobody is going to hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit, it is about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much can you take and keep moving forward. He'd have to give them a big discount for them to fit him in under the cap.  I don't see it.  But I would rather him stay in the AFC.

Peyton playing for Rexy?

He's too smart for that.

Only if the Jets are giving up on Sanchez.  What would it do to Sanchez and his confidence if the team brought in a heavy hitter like Peyton?   It would be a quick fix for the team but cause lasting damage to Sanchez.   Of course if the team has given up on Sanchez it's a different story

several rumors are abound that Peyton may end up in DC. Danny Boy will pay big bucks and the Skins are in need a a legit QB desperately. PLUS, we all know Danny Boy's desire to capture every named past star in the entire NFL. Peyton can suck his wallet dry. Danny Boy may be the only one willing to pay Peyton what he will probably want.
I hate to include the word NASTY, but that is part of being a winning football team.

I like peyton a lot but no one except a desperate team will sign him until we see what he can do post-injury in a real game.  that said, the jets, like the skins, maybe the broncos and fins, maybe vikes and raiders too, [others????] are in that desperate 'need to win now' category right now [and think the star QB is the only missing piece] and I wouldn't be surprised to see any one of them pay the big bucks and go for broke.  I do not believe PM will be a colt after march.

I agree.  I don't think Peyton will still be a Colt by next season.

I can see Peyton playing for the Skins.  I'd rather him on the Jets, but if he is in the division, it will make for some good games.  Not gonna lie though, we lost twice to the skins w/o peyton manning, its only gonna get harder if he is there.

There is no way Peyton goes to play for Danny Snyder, unless he's really lost it. He's too smart for that.

It's his neck that had that operation, not his head.   He won't go to DC.
