Manning For The jets?

Alex Smith had a good year. He'll never be a great QB. But I don't see the 49ers sitting him or trading him to bring in Peyton. They came very close to going to the SB. They're not going to make a change at the position.

Arizona I can see. Proven coach, good defense, good weather, a team with upside. Why not?

Idk I kinda agree but smith is a free agent so they just don't have to resign him. Also I think they saw the real smith against the giants and maybe realize they will not get over that hump w him at QB.

But Peyton to fitzgerald sounds scary.

I think we've all forgotten the one other place where he might wind up: Minnesota.

Playing in a dome, still in the Midwest, a young QB not quite ready for prime time, a terrific RB to hand off to, a couple of good young receivers. He could play there for 2-3 years before retiring and turning things over to Ponder.

I don't think AP is ever going to be the same.  That knee injury was NASTY.  He suffered a complete tear of the ACL and the MCL was badly damaged. The surgery had to completely reconstruct the ACL and repair the damaged MCL.  The only back to suffer a similar injury that I know of was Terrell Davis, who did the same thing after the SB run. He was never the same. Now certainly surgery and medicine has improved in the last 13+ years, but I do not think its come that far.  If he was a WR or a TE who did not have to do so much pushing with his legs, I would think it would be easier.  But he is a punishing back and I just doubt his knee with all that reconstruction will be able to handle it.  They may have bigger issues than the new stadium if AP can't play.  I'm not sure Peyton wants to get into a situation like the political hell that the new stadium is causing and have the RB issues with AP maybe out for a longer time than expected, or diminished if he returns.

I'm wondering about all the scuttlebutt on his arm strength. It may be that he is going to hang it up.

I'll take a wild guess and say Peyton will be a cowboy. Peace!
