Plaxico Burress has no faith in Sanchez; wants to come back

Burress said a lot by saying a little when asked about his season with the Jets after an autograph show here. The wide receiver made it sound as if he wanted to forget his time in green and white.

The most telling short answer came when he was asked what he thought of Mark Sanchez as a quarterback.

“Mark Sanchez is Mark Sanchez,” Burress said.................

...........Giants running back Brandon Jacobs, who is good friends with Burress, said Tuesday that Burress wished he signed with the Giants instead of the Jets. But Burress said he does not regret his decision.

I was willing to forgive Burress when he got out of jail and welcome him back to the Giants.  The fact that he spit in the Giants face and signed with the Jets to rehab his image only proves that he didn't learn anything during his incarceration.  Forget this clown.

Hey, Plax had his chance to get another ring. He chose the fat mouth over in the green room instead. All these guys want to play for a coach who wants to be their buddy and not have any discipline in their lives. But we have the rings to prove OUR way is the better way and all Green has is a locker room full of distention.

Another bed Plax has made and he will ahve to sleep in it.
I hate to include the word NASTY, but that is part of being a winning football team.

He had a chance to get another ring the very next year after he got his first one. Sorry Plax but we've been down this road. Thanks for abusing Al Harris in GB and XLII. We've moved on and it's time you do too.

Good luck Plex somewhere else next year and I don't blame you signing for three times as much last year with the Jets...

I wouldnt be surprised if Smith isnt kicking himself too.

The difference is that if Smith is truly healthy and we lose Manningham to FA I wouldn't necessarily mind getting Smith back, whereas I want no part of Plax.
I'd rather be a disappointed optimist than a vindicated pessimist

I saw Plax a lot this past season and he really had little impact outside of 2-3 games.  At his age, he is a shell of the player he used to be.  I actually think that if the Giants lose Manningham they'll still be fine at the position.

Depending on what happens with MM and Hixon's recovery I wouldn't mind both Plax and Smith back. They know the O and may come cheap for a one year deal.

I'm with you tomeee. After Cruz and Nicks, this team needs to either deal with Mario to keep him in Blue, or start looking for his replacement.

This is no short order either. While many player evaluators poo-poo'd Mario when he came out of Michigan as having big play skills but little aptitude for the professional playbook (and questioned his character based on some recreational drug use). The Giants were patient with him (even while Giant fans were historically NOT).

Finally given the chance to shine, MM demonstrated his skills in XLVI. You can't coach that. The BIGGEST play in the BIGGEST game. And this guy came to the G-Men in the second round, after EVERYONE had already passed on him!!!

I am not at all confident that Hixon is coming back. His injury is clearly not the garden variety Achilles. He rehabbed for 14 months and couldn't last for a 60 minute game before re injuring himself.

We can talk about Barden or Jerrnigan stepping up, and one or the other might just do that (more probably JJ than RB). But a bona fide veteran with a lot to prove, and precious little time to prove it, might just be the way to bandage the wound left when the Giants loose Mario two months from now when the FA period begins.

Some team out there is going to target that young man (probably already has), and Big Blue is going to get outbid on day one. If the kid stays on the market longer than a week I'd be stupefied.

So Plax wants a tryout? Steve Smith might want one too? Let's get the numbers to line up, then bring them in to compete. But I wouldn't stop there. Free Agency is going to reveal a number of options beyond those two.

I have no faith in Plaxico. At this point he's no better than Ramses Barden and Barden doesn't have the baggage. No thanks.

A good fit for Plax would be the Redskins or 49ers.

Mario Might want to be back.  But he very well might want to start too.  Another team will more than likely afford him the opportunity.

I hope he embraces it and runs with it.  He is horribly inconsistent for starter money.  I am very glad the days of 9-12 passing attempts per game to Mannigham have passed.  I doubt Reese is going to match the money that comes from an offer that is making him a starter.  So all that has to be asked, will he play for less as the 3rd receiver to be a Giant?  He might but that just doesn't happen very often in the NFL.

As of late the giants develop receivers well, I would not be surprised to see no one signed or no one of consequence signed and see Jerrigan given the opportunity if manningham is cut.  Even more so, if a quality TE is brought in, thus offsetting the lose of MM (Ballard unknown, Beckhum starts year on PUP).

Smith and Plax?????????

Honestly, I doubt it.

That being said, Plax would seem to be OK with the 3rd receiver role and be very productive in it, especially as a red zone threat.  His run blocking is well above average.  He could help teach that to Nicks et al.  For the right price Tisch, Mara and Reese would probally pull the trigger on it and TC would sign off on it.  But I doubt it happens but the cost to bring in Plax or anyone else will be in the backs of their minds when negotiating with Manningham.

Smith????  Is he even healthy???? Did he burn the bridge to any more of an extent than Plax?

I think Plax would be packaged with Nicks and Cruz better than Smith would.  But that is just the non professional opinion of a fan.

I don't want any part of either guy. We have the best young duo of receivers in the league. I don't want anyone coming in who thinks they should be starting or getting more balls thrown their way. If he is healthy Smith will want to be a starter and Plaxico has always been all about Plaxico. If Manningham goes elsewhere I'd rather see the Giants sig Jerricho Cotchery to play the slot.

I don't get all this sudden love for Mario, up until his big SB catch he was just another #3 WR on this team who was prone to missing assignments and dropping passes and making an occasional big play. Don't get me wrong here I like Mario and I hope we find a way to keep him but I didn't hear all of this love for him until his one big SB catch...
