All MM has done this year is make big catch after big catch.

The SB catch was just icing on the cake.

C'mon, his main fault is that he's not Nicks or Cruz? Few are. Then again, may I remind you that our illustrious #1 and #2 receivers both fumbled in the Super Bowl and were lucky that the Giants recovered. Can't say that about MM.

Good point about the fumbles.  But MM had the worse catch/target ratio of all of Eli's receivers.  His circus catch was incredibly timely and wondrous.  But he had a long ball bounce off his hands earlier in the game (Cruz/Nicks catch that one no problem), the sideline pass problem, and then the play with the PI.  If he makes one of those other plays, then there is no need (as much need?) for late-game heroics.

Nice guy, good WR, but does not catch the ball cleanly, in general.  The rookie errors in his 4th year will limit his market potential, regardless of his great catch, imo.
"17-14 fellas.  One touchdown and we are world champions.  Believe it and it will happen!  17-14 is the final.  Let's go!"  Michael Strahan, with 2:39 remaining in SB42.

So do we ignore that fact that in 2010 when he was healthy and played the whole season, and sometimes was the #1 receiver in the game due to injuries, he had the BEST catch to target ratio, the lowest Drop to catch or target ratio, the best yards per target, the best yards per catch, and the best TD to target or catch ratio?  I sure hope that opposition GMs do, but I have my doubts.

It's funny how people's perceptions of Manningham differ.  Denied access to Cruuz and Nicks, Eli went to him regularly, and he delivered in spades, the last series charge and that crucial clutch play key to it.   I would love to see him suit up next year.

One thing that's interest in talking about # 1, # 2 & # 3 receivers is that one of the game announcers (it might've been Collinsworth) said, "Eli's "favorite" receiver is the one that's open."  Personally, I'd like to see Nicks, Cruz & Manningham all stay next season.
