Big Joe
« on: February 11, 2012, 09:38:47 PM »
My Father fought bravely right up to the end. Starting with a mild stroke on Christmas night, my Father finally succumbed to a massive heart attack Thursday. Today we gathered as a family, & honored his last request.
The son of Italian immigrints, Father was a World War II Navy Vet. A member of the Bogota H.S. Athletic Hall of Fame. He graduated Bowling Green University. An entrepreneur in the truest sense of the word. From the mid sixties to the mid seventies he held season tickets for the Knicks, Rangers & Giants. He passes on at age 85, as a NY Giant PSL owner. I cherished the last couple years with him. Last game we attended, was the season opener vs. the Rams.
I Tailgated with him in his Hospital room for the SB.
He had a heart of gold & a will of iron. I will miss him very much.

Jaime, this is horrible news.  I lost my father to cancer to cancer in 1995 and miss him every day.  To that end I can understand what you are feeling.  It sounds as though you were able to build some fond memories right up to the end.  Be thankful you had the opportunity to say goodbye.  I wish you and your family the very best in these hard and trying times.

Jaime, my good friend, I am terribly sorry to hear this news. I offer my deepest condolences and hope you are holding up okay.
In this time of sorrow, we can always find some moment of hope and happiness to help guide us over the sadness part. You were able to share a moment with your Dad, winning the Super Bowl, as, I am sure, you shared the other wins with him also. Those are the good memories we need to hold on to. There are many in this world who can only wish to be able to share anything with their Dad's let alone what you both had between you. You will always ahve those wonderful memories to guide you thru the rest of your life.

If you want to talk, I am here to listen. We are all here for you in this time of need.

Once again, my deepest condolences.

Len

I too was with my dad o super bowl sunday nite, and treated him tonight for dinner, for he has liver cancer and at age 84 if I don;t do things with him now, I may never will.

I am so proud of you for being at his side up to the end, a true son in every sense of the word.

Rip, for he had to be one fine dad and man.

Sorry for your huge loss.

So Sorry for your loss Jaime. I lost my dad and step dad in consecutive years to cancer and Lou Gherigs disease. For two years straight I flew back east regularly to spend time with them. Dad raised me a yankee fan and took me to the Bronx. Step dad sat me down on the couch to watch those bums that will never win anything. Those pathetic loveable guys in blue pre LT days.

Jaime my friend,

I'm so sorry to hear about your father. Like Lenny said, if there is anything you need me for, just call me.

My deepest condolences,

Ed

I am very sorry for your loss, Jaime.  You seem to have had a great relationship with yor dad, and that's a wonderful thing. It's painful to loose a parent but it is consoling when you can carry good memories with you the rest of your life.
