Apologies
« on: February 12, 2012, 02:29:22 AM »
Folks,
It's clear my attempt at humor wasn't well received by many on this board. First let me make clear. It wasn't directed at anyone.  I was really just poking fun at the fickle nature of fandom which most of us (including myself) succumb to from time-to-time.  I'm sure any Giant fans who were publicly on the wrong side of debates about firing TC, Eli as a qb, etc., are pretty happy about how wrong they were. I honestly have no interest in raking anyone over the coals. I may not be a frequent poster, but I've been around for years, and I rarely, if ever, participate in the acrimonious threads. I've always valued the civility of this board, and the last thing I want to do is drum up any bad feelings. This stuff is for entertainment and should be fun.  And that's all I was trying to do.

Eh, I thought it was pretty funny.
The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place It will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me or nobody is going to hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit, it is about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much can you take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done! - Rocky Balboa

Apology accepted.  All I ask is that everyone be mindful of the titles they use as that is what is "tweeted" to all those people.

Anyone who read the thread had to realize it was just being lighthearted. The trouble with twitter is that a title can be re-tweeted and viewed by thousands, especially if a player or Sportswriter puts it out. Then again, there is no such thing as bad publicity.

Actually, it's a good thing because it gives us all an example of what can happen out there in cyberspace.

Don't get down on yourself or think for a second that anyone here views you in a bad light. A finger can be pointed to every one of us who have crossed a line or offended someone or went overboard at one time or another and that would include me!

By virtue of the fact that you thought enough of everyone here and of your own personal reputation to come out with a formal apology means something to me. It means you're a valued member and you belong here.

Don't sweat the small stuff.
The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will.

+3, it was clearly humor.  I found it funny as heck.  Perhaps we need a Sarcasm smiley?  But I think it was clearly meant to be funny.

I don't use or regard Twitter. I think it is stupid.  Twitter doesn't enter into my thought process.

I too knew the post was sarcastic, and  found it funny.  I cannot believe that some people actually took it seriously.
