Sounds very similar to one of my favorite sandwiches from a shop near my job.

The "Giants"

Hot pastrami on toasted rye bread with our homemade coleslaw & Russian dressing

Sliced Chicken Cutlet, fresh Mozzarella and thin sliced Proscuitto with Olive Oil on a wrap, toasted on the oven grill.

Onions and tomato optional.

Arrrg!!  You guys are killing me here.  I'm a sandwich lover as well, but I'm back on a diet after gaining the 18lbs I lost last summer.

Anyway, for me its got to be a BBQ lamb spiedie - with the original Lupo's marinade - on Jim Roma's Italian bread. Its an Endicott thing. I've brought the chicken version to camp in Albany a couple times, and never had to bring any back home with me.   ;)

I'm off to make a salad for dinner.

I am also a sandwich lover, just eating all that bread doesn't do much for the waist line.

I don;t know if you would fit this into this sandwich category, but I love egg plant parmeson on a garlic coated club roll with gobs of melted mozzarella cheese.

Sorry but I can only enjoy this whopper about twice a year, and definitely not before I get the cholesterol checked.
I hate to include the word NASTY, but that is part of being a winning football team.

mine would be 1/4 to 1/3 lb of lobster meat with some finely chopped celery and a touch of a good mayo on a nice bun....commonly called the lobster roll

One of my favorites.  On crisp Italian bread-  Grilled eggplant, wet mozzarella and roasted sweat peppers

Thanks Terry, I enjoyed sharing them with the folks in camp.  Who knows, maybe someday I'll bring some more up to Albany, though I think its unlikely - we're making the permanent move to California in a few months.

Ham and Muenster on Pumpernickel with tomato. Best if the ham is freshly made and carved from the shank.

My father used to wrap them in tin foil and take them with us duck hunting on Barnegat Bay. We would  toast them on the ole kerosene heater in the duck blind. When I was 10 years old, freezing my butt off in 30 degree weather with wind and spray off the bay, it was the best tasting sandwich ever.

Now I toast em up on the grill at halftime of some football games and dip it in some spicy mustard. Ahhh the memories.

Some folks down here introduced me to the Georgia classic - Vidalia onions with peanut butter and mayonnaise sandwich. Now if you are like me, you are probably thinking "that's just wrong." However, you need to try it sometime. It's a pretty amazing combination and actually very good.

Sliced roast pork or fried chicken cutlet (depending on my mood), broccoli rabe in garlic and oil, sharp provolone. On a hero roll. The Best.

I think I love leftover Thanksgiving sandwiches more than Thanksgiving itself. Similar to the 12th Man - turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, mayo, S&P, on wheat toast.

I just had dinner and I'm hungry again...
