I just turned 30 but I know its a converter to make the older, smaller-sized records fit on the peg in the middle of the newer turntables.

They were called 45's young man, 45's !!!  I also remember 78's, which were the middle ground between 33's and 45's.  Now that's going back some.

I hate to include the word NASTY, but that is part of being a winning football team.

The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place It will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me or nobody is going to hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit, it is about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much can you take and keep moving forward. Speaking of 78's, even though I am not at the half-century mark yet (one more year) - I used to have one of these to play them on:

I used to listen to a lot of classical on this.  I think all we had was classical and opera and I just couldn't get into opera.  My parents were shocked that a tweener wanted to listen to classical (when I wasn't listening to my music). . .

Thanks Lenn, I try !!!   =))
In any case, I remember when I was a kid and my brothers and sisters all chipped-in and bought a victrola.  The top cover was pink, the body of it was grey with grey knobs on the front [I think it had one speaker in front]. I think one for on/off and one for volume.  They also bought the 45 stacker device.  They would just stare at it.  I thought they were very strange.  Teenagers.
Go Red, Grey and Blue !!
