Troy Kropog OT--Cut by Titans

I always like to throw out names of some players cut--especially OK--This guy in kind of intriguing--Evidently his agent priced him out of Tennessee

Projected to be a 4th round pick in 2009--Was drafted in the 4th round--Versatile--can play either T position and has worked some at G.

Not saying he is starter material but he has to be as good as the guy from Philly who the Jints claimed--the guy who failed his physical

When a player is cut like that after the first game, there has to be a reason that perhaps is not publicized.  Right?

Right you are Todge--Check the Titans fan page--evidently big problems between the players agent and the GM--I dont know either name--but I do know this --there is no health reason

The Giants just restructured Snee's contract to get under the cap.  If money is the issue, then how can the Giants afford him?

I have no clue--as I said initially I always like to throw out names--there are after all some on this list who would not be too upset if Diehl (for example) was replaced---I am not advocating that--I am however trying to provide info to the members on this list who might find it interesting

I just finf the situation with this guy Kropog a bit interesting

Appeared in six games combined in 2009 and 2010. Spent all of 2011 on the PS.

Became expendable when the Titans signed G Deuce Lutui.

There another ex-Titan available:

Jake Scott - G - Titans

Seeking more than the veteran minimum, free agent OG Jake Scott has turned several offers from teams throughout the offseason and training camp.
"I'm not angry," said Scott. "This is my decision. It is a business and it is my decision not to be on a team right now." Scott started 121 consecutive games through 2011 and graded out as a top-10 guard by Pro Football Focus last season. Titans RG Leroy Harris, his replacement, was yanked late in the opener in favor of Kevin Matthews.

Would love Jake Scott, much better than Boothe or Petrus. Another guy still out there is Chris Kemoeatu formerly of the Steelers. This is the guy who took Alan Faneca's job. He's been a starter the past 4 season, not great in pass protection but his considered an excellent run blocker something the Giants sorely need. Also, Vernon Carey "retired" but could be persuaded for the right price. I feel like JR needs to do something here. Before you post it I'm well aware that these are stop gap guys but they're affordable and not bad. Would signing one of these guys be a bad thing?

I can live with something like Beatty-Scott-Baas-Snee-Locklear, with Boothe, Diehl, Brewer and Cordle as depth. This is not a great line but better than what we currently have.
"It's our time. We're not the Giants little brother anymore. This is OUR town,
this is OUR stadium. We're going to take that next step, we're going to
overtake the Patriots, host a playoff game, go to the Super Bowl." --Rex Ryan

Maybe he can play - but if his agent is demanding too much money, many teams are not in good cap position to take on such a large cap hit.

Todge--You are right about his agent--I just wish we knew the reason--when a player is claimed--at what salary does he come on board?  His salary with the team that cut him?  Does the claiming team automatically try to negotiate a new deal?

I am reasonably sure there are talks between teams and the player's agent before he is resigned.  The agent probably has a certain asking price ... and to date, there have been no takers.

Being that the Giants had to get Snee to restructure his contract to get under the salary cap, I can't see any instance where they can create enough cap room to sign someone like Kropog who has such a large pricetag.
