Just took my weekly glance at some of the "experts" picks for the week.  Sure are a LOT of them going the other way...especially at the four letter network.

I'm hoping our D line plays solid and maintains rushing lanes to limit CN.  Force them to earn their points.  I suspect our O will again try to establish the run early, especially after Brown's performance last week.  IMO, there is a slight chance that KG comes out throwing it a bit more, just as a surprise with our injuries at WR.  I do like that we have a chance to see Barden in a make or break situation...heard he is going to be WR 2.

That being said, in my mind we are going to have to outscore them to beat them.

It's a prime-time game.  The Giants are terrible in prime-time.  Not feeling great about this one.

zeph, "terrible in prime time games?"  Last year's first W against the 'Girls and the final six games were ALL "prime time."

Tonight's game is certainly all set up to be a loss.  We'll just have to wait & see.

All I can say is that if the Giants pass rushers and secondary don't step up their game, our heroes run the risk of being eaten alive by Cam Newton.

The Giants, under Eli and Coughlin, have something like a .433 winning percentage in games not played at 1 PM or 4 PM on Sunday.

With all the buzz about Cam, it's easy to forget that the Panthers have lost 11 of their last 18 games.

Yup.  More evidence of how the fantasy football mindset has overtaken the minds of a lot of fans and pundits.  He is an exciting guy and ESPN and NFLN are in love with him.  But it is still about winning games.

9-7 Giants.

Tynes and Weatherford will win this one on their own, with a little help from the D.

Something I haven't seen mentioned is what makes this team so maddening sometimes: They win when you (or the experts) expect them to lose, and they lose when you expect them to win.

I don't have a good feeling about the DLine's ability to generate pressure on Cam and the secondary's ability to cover for long periods of time. I don't like the idea of thinking, "We need Eli and the offense to put up 38 points if we expect to win." And I don't like the idea of coming off an emotional, hard-fought comeback win and then having to turn around and play four days later.

There are so many reasons why the GMen won't win this game, they just might do it!

I figure they lose.

-You guys are right, they don't do well with night games, unusual schedules, etc.
-I just don't think they'll be able to "get up" for Carolina early in the season. They need their backs to the wall and a lot more at stake.

Hope I'm wrong!

Secondary gets burned a lot on 3rd and longs .   If we can run the ball and keep it outta Cams hands we should be good.   It would be nice to win but because of a short week and major injuries I wouldn't be surprised at all if we lose.  Win the turnover battle and play tight we can pull this off.  35-27 late heroics doesn't happen this time.  Refs really screw us.   We lose .    Realllllly hope I'm wrong.  I'm a negative plus a negative person . Haha.  Go Blue.
The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place It will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me or nobody is going to hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit, it is about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much can you take and keep moving forward.
