Could the Giants IR Bernard with Recall to make room for Canty?

That would seem to be the logical move.  IR Bernard with the 6 game recall option and that would make room for Canty and the team would not have to cut a useful player from a different position.

It's eligible to practice after 6 weeks and can be activated after eight weeks I believe.

Thanks Ed.   One of the other parts of the rule is it has to be a significant injury.   Which makes me wonder about this statement from TC before the 49ers game

Yes, I read that too. For some reason though, I seem to recall something that stipulated it need to be designated by a certain date, so I'm not sure it can be done this late in the season, I can't find anything to clear that up though. Where is the exact rule governing IR distinctions? I only see articles about it.

Several have commented on Kuhn's play but I don't know how he graded out or how many snaps he took.

Never hurts to have insurance against future injuries. 

They may want to save it in case they have an essential player injured.

He certainly didn't stand out to me, but then I really wasn't focused on him. I did see JPP effective inside and the effective play of Kiwi on the line although the stats didn't prove out for Kiwi.

We are getting to the point where if we don't use it soon it will be too late to profitably use it.

 Kuhn had to grade out just as well as Austin did. I never even heard Austin's name called once during the game.

Inside Football didn't give either one of these guys a good grade.

I watched Kuhn for the first half of the Cleveland game and he had no push and no ability to get of the block.  He was almost contained upon the point of contact on every play I saw.
 
That being said he a rookie and it was the first half of his first start....
