Explain football to my girlfriend

How about it. I can't seem to make the game make sense to her so how about you guys give it a shot. Starting with the basics of basics, what is football? How is it played? What is the objective?

You can also contact the pro-team near where you live.  Roughly half of them offer football 101 classes (many geared specifically to women).

Pizbo-I know it is a long way from Texas,  but a trip to training camp might do it-it sure did it for my wife!

I also bought her "Football For Dummies" and she was not the least insulted.

lol thatnks guys. I was going to have her read this thread but... actually screw it I'll bring her in lol.

We're hoping to visit Ithaca, New York at some point. We were thinking around christamas but maybe we can schedule a short trip towards the end of summer and see training camp. Albany isn't that far right?
