Ahmad Bradshaw
Born in Bluefield, Va. March 19, 1986
Went to Graham High School where in his last two years rushed for 4839 Yds and 58 TD's, and averaged 10 yards per carry in his HS career.
He was signed to UVA in Charlottesville but got kicked out because of underage drinking and running from police.
Then went to Marshall wher he continued to improve each year, ending his Junior and final year with 1523 rushing yards. He had two games with over 200 yds rushing. Against UTEP he gained 261 yards and scored 5 TD's.
The Giants drafted him in the 7th round, and after a slow start which included two fumbles he began to show his ability late in the season when due to injuries to Ward and Jacobs, he got more playing time. In the Buffalo game he had an 88 yard run for a TD in which he demonstrated his speed in addition to his strength, quickness and vision.
He finished the season by showing the ability to gain yards when the defense was stacked against him, carrying tacklers on his back and refusing to go down. Season stats 23 carries for 190 yds, average 8.3 yds per carry.
He seems to be in a position now where his misbehavior of the past is not likely to resurface and he shows humility and a good team attitude.
He stands 5'9" and weighs about 200 lbs.

Derrick Ward:
Height 5'11"  Weight 228 Lbs.  Age 27

High School:  Valley View HS, Moreno Valley, Ca. In his senior year he ran for 1100 Yds, added 973 receiving with 17 TD's. He was the team MVP as a Junior and a Senior. He won All-CIF and Sun Belt League Offensive MVP.

College Career: After transferring to Ottawa, Ks from Fresno State in his Senior year he set NAIA single season records gaining 2060 rushing yards,  28 TD's and an average of 7.8 yds per carry.  In the 10 games, he had 47 yds on 4 receptions.

Pro Career: Ward was a 7th round pick of the NY Jets in 2004. He was waived by them  September 6th, and signed to their practice squad the next day. On October 13, 2004 the Giants signed him.
In 2004 played mostly on ST's where he led the team with a 27.3 yard average on KO ret's., including a 92 yd. TD.

In 2005 He played 14 games when he rushed for 123 yds on 35 carries. Went on IR on 12/26.

In 2006: IR? Inactive?

In 2007 He started 5 games and played in 8. He rushed for 602 yds on 125 carries, avg 4.8 yds and 3 TD's. Plus 179 yds on 26 receptions. He missed 4 games with an ankle, and came back strong but broke his left leg and went on IR again.

In pre season and early in 2007 he was the Giants most productive and impressive running back. If his injury prone history can be overcome he will be a very valuable complement to Bradshaw and Jacobs. He is a free agent but reports are that he and the Giants want to agree on a new contract.

Brandon Jacobs was drafted in the 4th round in the 2005 draft out of Southern Ill after transfering from Auburn.  Initially he was used as a short yardage and goal line back behind Tiki Barber.  After Barber left he was thrust into the #1 spot.  Jacobs is a explosive downhill runner that is not afraid of contact.  He will run over LB's and he has great speed for such a big guy.  Jacobs has greatly improved in his blitz pickup this year.  But he still has a fumbling problem down on the goalline.  Also his pass catching needs work.  He has shown that he is injury prone because of all the contact he takes.
