Who is the strongest player you've ever seen?

Who is the strongest player you've ever seen?

It can be on the Giants or not.

I don't mean best, or most physical. I mean the guy with freakish power, who could display brute strength and make it look effortless.

I'll start: for me it is Michael Strahan. Freakish, brute strength. Look at what he does to Jon Runyan on all those YouTube clips. And he didn't even need training camp.

In his era, the only other guy I've seen come close (though not that close) was Rich Seubert.

But it can be anyone: WR, RB, QB. One guy who was incredibly (and misleadingly) strong was Plaxico Burress.

I saw Ahmad Bradshaw stonewall Albert Haynesworth. Just stood him up and pushed him back. Sure, it was that terrible season in Washington, but still.

The first one that came to mind for me was Larry Allen as Jimmycal mentioned. I don't remember the exact weight but saw a clip of him benching about 600 lbs. Reggie White was another with incredible strength. Joe Klecko made the pro-bowl as a DT, NT and DE. While going going back further Bob Lilly the great DT of the Cowboys was suppose to in college lift Volkswagens.

One Giant from a few years ago who I remember was very strong was NT Erik Howard.

Larry Allen

First guy that came to mind as well.

Larry Allen supposedly benched over 700 lbs once. According to Travis Frederick (C-Dal), Tyron Smith is getting close to 700 lbs himself.

If you want to get away from O-Linemen, look at JJ Watt. He makes All Pro o-linemen look like high schoolers.

If you want to get away from linemen in general, Vernon Davis/James Harrison were freaks at their peaks.

Pound for pound, Steve Weatherford is up there. Mark Bavaro also had otherworldly strength for his size. Overall I'd say Linval Joseph.

It is not even close: Brandon Jacobs. The man oozed raw physicality. In shorts and t-shirt drills at training camp, he was easily the strongest looking dude on the field.

FTR...At the NFL combine, bench press is used as a test of strength and stamina, in which athletes lift 225 pounds (102 kg) as many times as possible. Since 1998, only fifteen men at the combine have managed to achieve more than 40 "reps" (repetitions). 51 reps: Justin Ernest (1999) NFL Combine record holder.

Jic you were wondering.  Cid

I think LT has to be mentioned here as well even though I don't know if he was very big on lifting weights.

Cid, from what I have read over the years, players with shorter arms have an advantage in doing reps.

Chris Snee had incredible strength, both in the gym and on the field. Pound-for-pound my answer is Joe Morris. I believe he was 5-9/190 and carried the load as a N-S power runner. Never seen the likes of him since.
