The seriousness of this is yet to be determined.  However, there were already reports that Elliot was looking at a one to two game suspension for his prior domestic violence incident.  If there is anything to this incident it certainly will not help his cause.   Throw in the incident where Elliot exposed a woman's breast in public and you have the making of a typical bad person Dallas Cowboy.

As long as he is out week 1, I don't care what he gets.

Our biggest question mark on defense going into week 1 would be how the run D holds up without Hankins and possibly with a new starting MLB.  Getting to start vs Alfred Morris/DRC, Lions RB?, Eagles RB?, and a Doug Martin-less Bucs, would be a great start for our run defense to jell.

Regardless of Elliot's status for week 1, maybe a win for the 2nd year in a row puts Jerrah in enough of a tizzy to demand we don't start the season in Dallas in 2018.

Ezekiel Elliott - RB - Cowboys
TMZ Sports reports a witness saw Ezekiel Elliott punch a man at a Dallas-area bar Sunday night.
A video shows the victim laying on the ground after the incident, but there is no video of the actual altercation. The victim suffered a broken nose. Despite a witness identifying Elliott as the assailant, police did not make any arrests because of a lack of information and the fact the witness appeared to be intoxicated. Police also did not speak with Elliott because he was gone by the time they arrived. No charges have been filed at this time.

Jerrah is like Don Vito. All he needs to do is ask, or, make them an offer they can't refuse, and it all goes away.  :o :o :o :o :o
I HATE TO INCLUDE THE WORD NASTY< BUT THAT IS PART OF BEING A WINNING FOOTBALL TEAM.

I don't think that you are doing Elliot a favor by always allowing him to escape these escapades.  At some point one of these incidents will come back to bite him in the you know what and you may see a very promising career going up in smoke.  Just my take as a parent who has seen a host of kids get off the hook by their parents and eventually those kids get into a problem that is so big that not even mom or dad can get them out of trouble.  If people are made to be responsible for their actions no matter how big or small they made be they tend to mature and become responsible citizens.  You don't see the Mannings in these type of situations.  I remember Archie telling a story about Peyton when he was about 10.  Archie saw Peyton talking critically to a coach about what he was doing wrong.  Archie latter drove Peyton to the coaches house and made him apologize to the coach for what he did.  You learn and you grow.  It not always what happens to you that is important but how you deal with what happens you that defines the type of person that you are.

A more likely scenario is a deal probably in the works as we speak.  How much money will it take for you to not "remember" who hit you?  With Jerry gladly arranging the cash transaction.

Odell may have his issues but at least he isn't out there doing what Elliot has done. No, I am not trying to make this out to be about Odell but what Elliot has done is far worse.

Great observation about life and accountability in raising young men and women, Frank. You have three outstanding young men to prove it.

It doesn't help that the league itself has contributed to his sense of being above the law or rules.

Contrast the league's reaction to two incidents last year by 2 high profile players.

After a terrific TD play OBJ does not violate the letter of the rules, since he was off of the field of play, as defined in the rules, before removing his helmet, but nevertheless is penalised because, it is said, he violated the spirit of the rule because he wasn't in the team bench area - - even though that isn't how the rules read.

After Elliot made a terric TD play he clearly used a prop in his celebration - the Salvation Army kettle, which is a clear  black-line violation of the rules and no penalty, because why?  Because he is the new darling of the league and it was the Salvation Army and it was the Christmas season??
I'd rather be a disappointed optimist than a vindicated pessimist

Boomer and Carton this morning, if I heard it right (I was just getting into the car as they were in the middle of it), made it seem like there is evidence that Elliot did not throw the first punch here.  We shall see.  But, if he did anything give him a lifetime ban without pay, and then revoke all of the C*wb*ys draft picks for the next 5 years.  Maybe another salary cap penalty can be applied, too!
