Branden Albert - T - Free Agent
Jaguars released LT Branden Albert.
This concludes what has been a bizarre cat and mouse game between Albert and the Jaguars. Albert announced his retirement after struggling at the start of camp, only to return a week later when he found out he may have to pay back some of his signing bonus. The Jags ultimately decided it wasn't worth the hassle and now Albert is free to sign with a team of his choosing. Coming off a lackluster year in Miami, it's fair to wonder how much Albert has in the tank or even if he has any interest in playing.

This has been a pretty weird chapter for the NFL:

3/9/17 - Jags trade for Albert
4/2017 - Albert fails to show up for OTAs, is asking for a new contract.
7/31/17 - Albert announces retirement
7/31/17 - Reports that Jags can seek 3.4 million bonus from Albert comes out.
8/8/17 - Albert unretires
8/11/17 - Jags release Albert.

Here's the question

Is the Brandon Albert of 2016 any better than the Erecl Flowers of 2016?

Is the Brandon Albert of 2017 so far any better thatn the flowers of 2017?

I suggest not

Thia guy Albert making almost 9 million a year was traded for a 7th round CONDITIONAL pick and then demanded a raise from the Jags//  A conditional 7th round pick is like NOTHING--he would have to play at least 3 games for the Jags to have to send anything to the Dolphs and then TC says enough--release him

I think it sounds like a big pass

Brandon Albert has a pesky injury history (hasn't played a full season since 2011), the Dolphins drafted Tunsil and they save $7.2M against the cap by offloading the pick to a team that was looking to upgrade their LT position. Of course, as TC often does with veteran players when he arrives in new locations, Albert probably wasn't ready for the TC level of discipline.

I agree with Dan and Hadron,

The Giants could stand to upgrade the LT position but Albert isn't that upgrade
