I'm a little behind in my reading and just found out now.  Get well soon and as Painter said it's actually a small blessing in disguise.  My wife worked cardiac for many years and it's amazing the new lease on life you get and the success rate of the surgery.  Best wishes and good thoughts for you.

I spoke to Frank tonight. I told him about all your kindness, compassion and words of encouragement. He hasn't been able to get online yet, but hopefully he can in the next week or so. He had an problem that he was told is fairly common. Some fluid build up in a lung, but all is good now.

You're all such a great group of gentlemen to step up when a member of our internet family needs support. I'm proud to consider you all my friends.

I just got off the phone with Frank and he is doing fine. We had a nice long chat about many things and he is hoping to get home on Monday, and misses this board a lot.  (See, you don't know how good you have it until you can't get on here).
Anyway, Frank sends his regards to all and thanks all who sent their well wishes.

Ed,

Thanks for the info. I had no idea. I have been busy and away from the board for most of the last month.

Frank,

Hope you are soon back to your healthy and ever-gracious self.

I haven't paid attention to the board lately but I'm very happy to read that Frank is doing well.  My thoughts are with you and your family.

Thanks for the info Ed and count me in if you are planning on a gift.  I still have a couple of american dollar in my wallet.

I just got home from the Hospital this afternoon.  I just want to thank all of you for your thoughts, words and prayers.

As was said I had what was diagnosed as having a mild heart attack that occurred two days before on a Wednesday while commuting to work in lower Manhattan.  It felt like indigestion not the pain you would think from a heart attack.  I had no sweats and no pain in the left arm.  I put in a full day and went to work on Thursday but decided to go to the doctor when it didn't go away.  He did and EKG and sent me to the Hospital where they determined that it was a heart attack and  sent me to Westchester Medical Center which is rated as one of the better cardiology hospitals in the country to put a stint in.  When they went in they determined that it was beyond stints.  3 of the 4 arteries were blocked from 75 to 95 %.  The fourth never grew from when I was a kid.  They replaced 3 of them on this past Monday, I spent the next 3 days in ICU, the last 2 in a regular room and was released today.

I feel very Lucky as a person who has a great family and friends.  I consider this group to be a big part of that.  Thankyou all again for everything.  One last thing as I was leaving the OR after they wouldn't put the stints in one of the attendants said to me you are a very lucky man someone must be watching over you.  She was so right in many ways.

Frank, it's great to see you here!

There are probably a lot of ways in which the world was a better place 40 or 50 years ago, but medical technology ain't one of them. It's nothing short of miraculous to think that they could diagnose you, determine the best course of treatment, perform an amazing surgery, and have you back home recovering (and feeling well enough to manage a hello here on the forum) in the space of a week.

How great for you, and how great for us to have you back among us so soon and on the mend.

It's great that your home Frank. It is amazingly true what Kevin just wrote. It appears if they can get to a patient in time at a quality hospital, your can be back talking football in rather a short period of time.

They sang better doo-wop four to five decades ago, but the medicine today is one hell of quantum leap better.

Welcome home!   applause
