I am really enjoying this broadcast team and the coverage of the game. Usually I have to mute the TV and turn on the radio to limit the nonsense talk of the TV crew.
Carr looking like a star tonight too.

This broadcast team was a refreshing change and vast improvement over last week's dreadful ESPN performance.

Tom,

I had to watch the game on the "Justin TV" feed off of the internet. Plus, I was busy with something during much of the game, so I listened as much as I watched. Popa and Banks were flat out good. Popa, as a trained radio play-by-play announcer, does a great job calling the game. So much better than Buck et al. He and Carl were a joy to listen to.

The only problem with the mute strategy is the effect of transmission delays.  You can actually be a little ahead on the radio call (provided you aren't listening on satellite or the Internet), or are watching it on television via satellite or an HD digital feed.  I have HD downstairs, cable upstairs.  On cable the telecast is slightly ahead of what I get in my den.  These issues can really jam you up.

I agree Papa and Banks were terrific.

Retro,

Whenever I had that time difference, I really enjoyed it because I "knew" waht was going to happen and I could watch/focus on the right players involved in the action. I listen on AM radio (NJ) and watch tv from a roof antenna...yeah I'm old. Wink

We ask this same question every single year,

"Why isn't Banks doing regular color with the networks??". The man know's exactly what is happening out there, is maybe the most knowledgable color man out there, and is just a pleasure to listen to. (Except when he starts his Knicks rants). But leave him to football, and I can listen to him all day. His regular football Friday spots on WFAN are a joy to listen to.

I hate to include the word NASTY, but that is part of being a winning football team.

Sadly, Banks probably isn't "pretty" enough.
