Quote from: Ed Vette on Today at 01:21:38 PMIt made me wonder what the cat sensed that night. It happened the exact time we were discussing it. Nothing the rest of the night. Cats seem to like me and will brush up against me and let me pet them. Although I've never had a cat as part of the family.

I'm the same way. I remember stopping at a girl's house one time and her cat came up to me and I scratched its head while it purred like crazy. The girl told me she never saw anything like that because no one could get near that cat except her. Cats usually like me, and I don't know why - especially my son's cats. They come running when I stop in and jump on my lap the second I sit down. It can actually get irritating

I've had cats off an on...and dogs. I favor cats only because they can take care of themselves when I'm gone. I don't need to get a dog sitter. I lost two cats in the last couple of years to the highway, Jeter and Rambo. Both Siamese (Jeter Lilac point, Rambo Chocolate point) Which really surprised me because for years, they never went near the road. Then one morning (a year apart), there they were, lying in a pile by the road. At least it had to be quick  :(

I only have pictures when they were young. Jeter turned into a big old Tom Cat who strutted around like a lion, only "King of the House" instead of the jungle

And destroying the couch while sharpening his nails  ~X(

Can't find any pictures of Rambo...they're somewhere, just can't find them

Quote from: londonblue on Today at 12:12:59 PMI thought that as well but their beat guys (including Allbright who is wired in with them) all think Sean Payton is in deep man love with JJ McCarthy. Smoke season of course.

I saw Eric from BBI make that claim.  Only when I went to the Youtube video he linked, the guy saying the Broncos are hot to move up is Tony Pauline.  When I listened to Albright, he seemed far less sure the Broncos are trying to move up.

According to NFL Insider Tony Pauline, the Denver Broncos are desperate to trade up for a QB and may trade a king's ransom including CB Patrick Surtain to the Arizona Cardinals for pick #4? Is Monti Ossenfort waging a bidding war for the draft's top QBs? Will the Cards still manage to select Marvin Harrison Jr.? Will Arizona sports fans be happy with Rome Odunze or Malik Nabers in a trade with the New York Giants or Minnesota Vikings?

Quote from: Jolly Blue Giant on Today at 11:20:49 AMCats are mysterious creatures that see themselves as the highest order of the food chain. While dogs look up to humans and think, "they feed me and give me shelter, they must be God"; whilst a cat thinks, "they feed me and give me shelter, I must be God"

Here's another example:

Two dogs and a house cat die at the same time. Standing at heaven's door, God asks the German Shepard what he believes in. The German Shepard says, "Discipline, loyalty, and obedience". God says, "you may enter"

Next, God asks the Doberman what he believes in. The Doberman says, "Loyalty, obedience, and love of my family". God says, "you may enter"

Next, God asks the house cat what he believes in. The cat says, "I believe you're in my seat"

Anyway, it's quite normal for cats to have one person they trust in, no matter what, and see others as a nuisance or just in their way. Cats take a long time to earn your trust, unless you've raised them from birth. They especially hate strangers (in most cases). As far as your friend goes, cats are intuitive and can sense things we can't. If they sense that she is nervous around cats, they pick up on it immediately and will want nothing to do with her. The more she feels that cats don't like her, the more it becomes part of who she is and cats sense it. Having a cat screech while talking about it is coincidental, but very funny. That's all I got  :-??

Quote from: T200 on Today at 11:04:27 AMI have a love-hate relationship with cats.

Before Sharon and I got married, she had "rescued" a cat from another AF member. They actually met by chance at the kennel. He was turning in the cat for adoption because he and his wife were getting ready to have their first child and she did not want the cat any longer. After talking with him for a while, Sharon decided to take "Hobbes" home. Hobbes was now the "man" of the house.

After we got married, there was a new sheriff in town and Hobbes wasn't having it. He would challenge me at every turn, hang out on the top of the fridge and take swipes at me as I passed, and all kinds of other craziness. It took some time but I eventually won him over. I have tons of pics of him sleeping on me, jumping on me to hold him like a baby, hanging around me like my shadow lol.

We were close until he finally went home to his maker. We never got another pet after Hobbes. Too emotional.
I can completely understand your situation Tim.

I will admit, even I am suffering from fatigue at this point in terms of evaluating the QB class, but for those who are not.  Here are two articles full of comments from NFL coaches and front office staff

Rich: I don't want to choose between "star collecting" and "hole-filling."

Giants are high up enough in this draft to find a star to "collect" who also fills a hole.  That would be WR.

If they had Pick Two (or maybe Three), I'd also include QB in the equation... but they don't. Anyway, IMO they lack sufficient draft capital (picks this year and next) to make a decent offer for Pick Three. IMO they would have to throw in a decent to very good player (or two) as well, and we already have enough holes.

That's as close to what I think as it gets.

Only one QB (Daniels for me) would make me think about trading up (if he got past Bears & Commodes).

It's clear to me Giants need an elite WR to make the rest of our receiving corps appear to belong in the NFL.

CHATTER: GIANTS WILL TAKE A QB AT NO. 6 OR TRADE UP
There has been talk about this since Daniel Jones tore his ACL last season, and it was clear the New York Giants would have a top pick. Yes, the organization has done extensive work on all the top quarterbacks in the draft. However, I have not gotten the indication they'd pull the trigger on taking one at No. 6.

There are rumblings in league circles that if Drake Maye fell, he could intrigue them the most. Otherwise, they likely will take a different position, whether a receiver or an offensive lineman. There is a good chance the Giants will explore taking a quarterback in this draft, but it could be in the second round.

Quote from: londonblue on Today at 12:19:13 PMFirst time round Wellman introduced elements of yoga and the non-martial arts (tai-chi specifically). I suspect his return will see shifts towards more flexibility, bodyweight, resistance and high intensity work to complement traditional lifting more in line with developing trends in other sports. It will be worth watching.

It appears that some of the strength training also focuses on joint stability.  In the olden days (when I learned about weight and strength training), it was all about isolating the muscle or muscle group you were working on.  The things I see, put the various joints in play, which should improve stability
