Per Raanan:

Arizona OT Jordan Morgan is visiting the #Giants on Tuesday, per source. Also visited with the #Jets and the #Commanders on deck.

Morgan is a potential late first-round prospect. Would likely involve the Giants moving around to land him. They currently pick sixth and 47th.

I do not think Daboll gets fired because QB play sucks with DJ/Lock unless all the other stuff blows up around him again and our problems are much more widespread. Mara is clearly fed up changing horses and worried the instability is hurting us. IMO he won't hang the HC if the team plays hard and the mood music is happier staff and a unified locker room.

If they want a RT it makes a lot of sense for them trade with Minny (if AZ stay put and take Harrison) to get the two firsts. Use one on Latham and the other BPA, which might be a WR. There are also plenty of good WR day two who would start day one for them but would be more rotational pieces for teams with better rooms.

What we need and what we can get rarely align in life.

Even if they are as aggressive as they can be the Giants will be extraordinarily lucky to come out of this with a QB who makes a difference.

Best case scenario they will get the 4th QB taken. Who knows how they will do? If they cannot swing that trade they might take a QB day two but they might well be on QB7 or 8 as Nix and Penix may well be gone.

Our odds of finding the QB who liberates us from QB hell in this draft are very low. I know people do not want to hear this.

Our worst case is that whoever we pick at 6 does not work out. It is not all that unlikely given Thibodeaux is good but not (yet) great, a double not a home run. Neal is bad (so far). Another mistake gets magnified if the pick is a QB as it will delay hope for at least three more years.

Our best case is whoever we pick justifies their draft slot and has a long career with us including multiple all-pro recognition. If they are a QB it has a multiplier effect but an all-pro at WR or CB still makes us better.

Fingers crossed we hit a home run with whatever pick we make and they help raise our level.

Given the FA investment on OL I am thinking day 3 for a developmental G or swing T as we need to let Neal, Ezeudu, McKethan battle it out to see if any of them turn it around to become part of the core. If either Haynes or Rosengarten slide to 107 then lovely but maybe a guy like McClintock is more realistic. As it stands CB, NCB, S and a pass-rush 3T all feel like better uses of day two picks this year to me.

Can add G Cooper Beebe per Ian Rapoport.

Special teams guy. Was Colts ST captain in the past (drafted r7 2018 by them) and a good locker room guy. He is still playing special teams at a high level. Also taken snaps as a back-up with a few career starts but he's really not LB depth in any meaningful way.

We have made several veteran minimum or similar acquisitions for ST who will have to fight in camp with holdovers, late draftees and UDFAs but as a minimum these proven veterans set the floor others have to rise above to make the roster.

He did get injured last year but is still a solid guy when fit. It is just the fit I struggle with. We have a lot of massive humans at DT. At 6'2" 307 Nacho is the 'dwarf' with everyone else 325+.

No.

Giants have lots of league average players and very few difference makers. The odds on getting an elite player at 28 or 60 are against us. I'd want two future 1s and the 2024 R2 to even think about it.

Mammoth NT. Do we see one of Riley/Davidson as a 3T option? Are we considering moving Dex off the nose (surely not!)? Is it snap management for Dex?

A lot of the discussions on QBs in particular by the media forgets the golden rule of player evaluation (ignoring character side of things) as told to me by NFL employed family member.

Focus mainly on what they do well (physical and mental) that matters in your scheme.

Put what they do badly in perspective. Can you mitigate/improve?

Almost no QB can do everything equally well (not even Mahomes). The job of the coaches is to maximise the good and minimise the bad.

The magnitude of the good matters much more than the magnitude of the bad because you can mitigate many flaws but you cannot magically create strengths.

Maye's strengths are enormous. If they fit a team's scheme, situation (start day 1 vs sit and develop) and HC they will likely have him as QB2. If the strengths are not a good fit then the negatives/risk might have him 4-6. It is isn't that one team is smart/dumb. It is just fit.

In Maye's case he probably needs a team prepared to sit and work with him for a year. Being forced to start early might not be the path to success.

He also had a revolving cast either side of him and injury issues. We'd hope to see a significant step forward year two but unless and until it happens we just don't know.

Another top pick on an OL would feel a bit like the NFL equivalent of throwing good money after bad like a drunken casino punter. A year from now if we are by then certain beyond reasonable doubt that Neal is not ever coming good I can be convinced but not yet.

He's a ST gunner on coverage teams and a very good one. That is why he is still in NFL.
