Quote from: MightyGiants on March 18, 2024, 11:38:08 AMfor comparison here is the opening day depth chart for 2023

RT   Evan Neal   Matt Peart   Marcus McKethan
RG   Mark Glowinski   Joshua Ezeudu
C   John Michael Schmitz Jr.*   Shane Lemieux
LG   Ben Bredeson   Shane Lemieux
LT   Andrew Thomas   Matt Peart

Here is the current depth chart

LT  Thomas, Andrew * Miles, Joshua
LG  STINNIE, AARON * Ezeudu, Joshua
C  Schmitz Jr., John Michael *  Schlottmann, Austin * Morrissey, Jimmy
RG  Runyan, Jon  * McKethan, Marcus *  Mayfield, Jalen
RT  Eluemunor, Jermaine * Neal, Evan * Cajuste, Yodny

I think Runyan might be starting LG and Eluemunor the starting RG. Of course, it all depends on what Bricillo wants to do. It will be sorted out in camp and early games

Pretty good interview with Runyan who's played more LG than RG

Quote from: EliWasrobbed on March 17, 2024, 08:36:01 PMCJ has physical attributes that are echelons ahead of JJ.
Stop it.
Lol your the one that brought up pass attempts as a dig at Mccarthy and I prove you wrong. Now it's physical attributes, what attributes are those? Because JJ and Stroud are virtually the same height and weight coming out of college. They both ran a 4.48, plus their arm and hand lengths are nearly identical.

Stroud
Arm 32 5/8
Hand 10

Mccarthy
Arm 32
Hand 9

So not really sure what huge physical attribute Stroud poses that Mccarthy doesn't.

Quote from: PSUBeirut on March 18, 2024, 11:18:36 AMI'm with Rich- I'm completely tuning out any noise regarding the OL.  I simply can't get myself to care about hearing about who we've added, who we've lost, who may be moving spots, who we may or may not draft, who the new coach is, how great he's supposed to be, etc.  I have zero expectations of our OL ever being good for the rest of my lifetime at this point (and I'm not all that old... ).  I'll watch with my eyes once the season starts and we'll go from there.

I think we all are a bit apprehensive, given the history of performance and the failed attempts to fix the offensive line. But what we, collectively, are acknowledging, which is not to be confused with popping the champagne just yet, that they are, as many of us have been saying since that opening day disaster, to make a concerted effort to fix the offensive line, once and for all, so that any semblance of offensive game plan can at least be executed from start to finish without having to go into mayday mode one second into the play. Schoen, Daboll and company have been doing that and we're collectively thankful they at least are doing something about it.

Whether or not the new coach and players will transition smoothly into Daboll's system remains to be seen and, to your point, we're with you on that point.

Peace!

Quote from: Sem on March 18, 2024, 10:18:34 AMOver the weekend Patty Traina had a very interesting interview with Raiders beat writer Hondo Carpenter discussing this very subject. Perhaps the easiest interview she's ever done. If the things he said about Bricillo are true, fans are going to love him. For those who haven't seen this take the time and watch the interview.

Very good podcast/video

Has me extremely excited about Bricillo and Eluemunor

And I hate to admit it because I am the biggest DJ supporter that I know, but this guy made a convincing argument that the Giants might actually take a QB with their 6th spot, and I would be all for it

Boy was I wrong on Nakobe Dean.  Thought he was going to be a great pick for them.

As for White, he is still good.  I think he gets a better DL in front of him in Philly than he had over the last couple of years in Tampa.  His rookie year that line was pretty stacked.

I think I may have a solution.  After work, I am going to try something that may eliminate the 4 in the morning issue.   There is some risk, so don't be alarmed if the site is offline at some point late afternoon or early evening.

If I am successful, then I can start looking at the Tapatalk issue.

Quote from: uconnjack8 on March 18, 2024, 11:11:32 AMSo, for these moves are they are saying the Eagles signing Devon White was a big mistake?

5. DEVIN WHITE TO PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (ONE YEAR, UP TO $7.5 MILLION)
It is no secret that the linebacker play has been a big issue for the Philadelphia Eagles recently. Nakobe Dean has not developed how most had hoped and free agent Zach Cunningham was a liability in coverage, so we knew linebacker would be near the top of the list of positions to get fixed via free agency and the 2024 NFL Draft.

The Eagles agreed to a one-year deal worth up to $7.5 million with former Buccaneers LB Devin White on Thursday. White, still 26, is coming off one of the worst seasons of his career, in which he was benched halfway through the season for K.J. Britt.

White was one of the bigger names left at linebacker, but he was far from the player he was at LSU and during his rookie year. The Eagles are only tied to White for one year, but if they think White will fix to their linebacker struggles, they could be in for a rude awakening.
