If some one sends me a picture or a video thru my email, how do I post it here??> I have tried everything I know and just cannot get it done. Am I doing something wrong???????
Pictures are easy, just go to the buttom of the posting area to "Additional Options" and click that. Then just upload the picture as an attachment. Videos are more challenging, as you first must sign up for a free youtube account and upload the video there. Then you can just post the link and it will automatically embed.
I have tried several pictures in the past, and it told me file was too large. If that is so, what are our options. You can only crop a picture so much.

Right under Big Blue Huddle, on the top of the page, you see a bunch of buttons.
Click on the profile button
On the left side of the new page, you will see a few boxes with other things in them
Under Modify Profile, click on the Forum Profile/Info.
A new page comes up where you can choice something to use as your avitor. If you are uploading a picture from the net, click on 'I will upload my own picture', use the browse button to find your picture, and the rest is history. If you already have your picture, use the 'I have my own picture' button and put the site where your picture is.
You can also add a few words where it says 'personal text'.
I'm pretty sure you can only use a very small picture as your avator, so make it good. If you have any further questions, talk to Rich. :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

In my limited knowledge, if you are on U tube, all you have to do to post that video, is copy the web page address from the top of the page and paste in in your post. The video will then show up in your post. Very simple.

At the top of the internet browser you should find a line that starts http:// or youtube.com. Highlight that line and right click and left click on copy. Then in your post right click in your post and then left click paste. The site then automatically embeds the video

Mighty, I just posed to video's from youtube. One on the front porch, Beer 1985 and one on the Huddle.
When I looked at the video, it worked but seemed all 'washed out', no clarity, too white.

It's part of the Google ecosystem. If you have a Google account (Gmail, Google Drive, etc) then you would use your same username/password to log in to YouTube.
If you aren't a Google member, it's easy to create an account. Just go to Google and there should be a link to create an account. Or you can do it through YouTube as well.

I actually struggle with this myself. I have a mac. When I tried to follow the instructions at the top of the thread I couldn't seem to get it done and eventually gave up. I generally only post links but it would come in handy to be able to post images from time to time.

I upload to a free image hosting site and then link to that. Pretty sure it doesn't matter what OS you're using. PM me if you need instructions. I got Len using it at one point, though I don't know if he still uses it.

Only downside is that about once every ten times it throws a string of letters onto the end of the url for an advertisement that you have to take the time to delete from the original string of letters. You don't have to delete it, but if you don't, there'll be a url underneath the picture you post that if clicked, takes you to an ad. I guess that's how they fund the site

postimage will put the picture the same size as the source
I change picture sizes all the time. I use Infranview viewer exclusively (https://www.irfanview.com/) for looking at photos and it's totally free and a really great viewer
When pulling up a picture in Infranview, you can go to the third tab over "
Image" for a drop down of options. It looks like this:

Then go down to "Resize/Resample" and click on it and it looks like this:

Click the round box where it says "Set new size" you can adjust the width to any size you want (note: if the original photo is small, making it larger could become blurrier as it increases in most cases - making it smaller retains it's clarity). It all depends on the original number of pixels in the photo
Make sure the box "Preserve aspect ratio" is clicked with a check mark...otherwise you can make it less wide, but the height remains the same
EDIT: OH YEAH,
AFTER RESIZING TO THE SIZE YOU WANT....DON'T FORGET TO SAVE!

Every once in awhile I have to delete the highlighted portion of the line
There should only be 1 ["URL"] and 1 ["URL] in the string of letters - if there are two and you see this["/url]["url] between the two and then to delete from the second ["url] to the end of the string including the["/url]
