What about kickers than can launched almost in the stands?

Quote from: Bob In PA on March 24, 2024, 02:56:27 PMIf they trade up to pick McCarthy instead of Harrison, it will ruin my year.

I get it.  If he turns out to be "The Next Tom Brady" (also from Michigan, and also dissed/ignored pre-draft) they'll never live it down.  I say I'll take that bet (won't be the next Brady).

I say tell me his three greatest attributes. I can only think of one that really matters to an NFL team (good leader). I do see, though, that players might think more highly of him, depending on what scuttlebutt is going around about him.  I don't know. Maybe Schoen and Mara should ask the players. lol

Agree Bob,

You can't pass on MHJ if you trade up. Trading up for a surefire star is acceptable, a McCarthy no.

Trading up is a bad move almost always for a qb. If the Giants have interest from the Cards, I'm trading up for MHJ. He's is as close there is to a surefire success.

Toney was completely awful and the third screw up in one round. That's simply mind boggling. Probably the dumbest move not counting OBJ's boat drama.
#5
Can't see that scenario happening. That means trading up for JJ probably. Huh.

Vikings have invested too much not to get a qb..but If it does happen. I'm selecting MHJ in a heartbeat. He'll make Jones or Lock better-anyone. The permutations are all over the place.

Do the Vikings wait to trade with Jim Boy and get JJ or want Maye at 3?
Or do they deal with the Giants at 6?
Do they Norsemen think JJ could last to 11?
Why would our heroes trade up and not take a qb?
Maybe the Cards simply move down and get MHJ anyway.

Drew Lock could be the starter opening kick. And it isn't a "lock" when DJ will be ready..but there is much to sort out. How good is Lock in Daboll's offense, when Jones can perform, does the OL finally become functional? All subplots ahead of us.

Let's get to the vet OTAs and perhaps we'll know more.

Jolly;

Georgia even used Bowers on jet sweeps. He's a super hybrid player. Just everything you want and more from the position. But I'd take #1 wr still.

Be interesting to see if JJ gets weighed. I doubt he will do so.

Better than taking JJ, a good, not great talent. Its a huge need. And much better than trading up for JJ.

The Draftniks are saying "oh next year..it's a down year for qbs". We don't know that. Players emerge all the time (i.e. Daniels). Build up the roster with great players first like Odunze. It's far better to have a good qb on a great roster than even a great qb on a bad one. Anyone remember Tarkenton, Hall of Famer with the Giants? One winning season out of five.

If they pick JJ at 6, I can accept that. If he's gone, take your pick at WR.

When dad talks, I hear Lonzo Ball's dad.

That's what I hear too. Haven't sensed his kid is a problem. For Prime to make that "insistence" doesn't help at all.

What's next? Build my kid a dome!?

Tough loss. Good player on a Pokes team that suffered without him on D. Wonder what the Ranch thinks?

Pratt would be my choice from the standpoint of consistency. I assume they eschew taking a qb early in that case. But he looked very pedestrian in Senior Bowl workouts.

Quote from: Ed Vette on March 16, 2024, 10:16:45 AMDon't underrate Stinnie. Take a look at the games played, and the sacks, hits and hurries. I see him competing for a starting role at LG. Evan Neal better be on his game because Guard doesn't look to be in his future after this week's moves. Those positions have been nicely upgraded.

As long as nobody retires, goes IR or has a mental breakdown. I think I covered every surprise of the past. Hopefully nobody is placed in the witness protection program, gets abducted by aliens or takes a trip to Russia.

Yes. Nyet to vacationing in Russia (or training like Rocky IV did). Witness protection? Got very little of from Neal so far. Abducted by aliens? Do these lineman live near the border?
