It was the best option. Nabers is a supreme talent on a team that needs great potential players everywhere.

They couldn't get a top line qb..so they acted sensibly. Next year is another opportunity to find the future at qb. It wasn't going to happen without digging a hole now and into next year. JJ wasn't the answer.

Are we there yet? Geeze. Plenty might happen. Strap yourself in, time your snack and bathroom breaks. Have the ability in a big spot to multi-task media.  <:-P

Not for me. Dinky Dunky overall system guy. Nope. Pac-10 was a godawful defensive conference.

Quote from: AZGiantFan on April 25, 2024, 02:31:59 PMWouldn't it be exciting if the draft was an actual auction?  Teams get bidding points based on prior year's record, and then they auction off the players.  Pre-draft trades would be players for points.

Uh..no. Full stop.

Oh boy. Greg Cosell's JJ comp is Andy Dalton. Yikes. He likes Pratt. He loves Brock Bowers.

Well..there been others back in the day when teams didn't have a clue..like. the Giants (Rocky Thompson)..In terms of bad.

Now that the draftnudniks resurface every season, there's much less surprise. Or wise still. But we basically know who but not the whom.

By the way. What happened to Bellinger after such a promising rookie season? He looked lead footed and sluggish. Remember..he Hulked himself out for camp last year and went pfft almost right away.

Quote from: Philosophers on April 25, 2024, 10:07:16 AMThat sure feels like a distinct possibility.

Unless the Vikings brass decided to take a long ship to nowhere, they know the Giants interest. They're going to trade for a qb-that is obvious or why accumulate picks?

Quote from: MightyGiants on April 25, 2024, 08:46:23 AMThere will certainly be plenty of fuel for the glass-half-empty types.  The Giants are likely to pick either one of the two most polarizing QB prospects or neglect the QB issue and draft a WR (albeit a very promising prospect)

Yes. Those two options likely are going to be front and center. How it unfolds will be the story when the Pats pick. But... :-??

Quote from: Philosophers on April 25, 2024, 08:10:17 AMThink about it.  All these QBs and prospects have met with hundreds of people from all the football teams.  Easy to forget names or mix them up with names from other teams.  JJ recited all the names as if he has been training with them for months.  That says something about their interest but also about him.

I like JJ a lot. I think he's going to be a real good, not great player. JJ kinda let the cat out of the bag, no? The fact they spent more time with him than anybody is revealing.

I'm sure both Daboll and Schoen are looking to the future at qb, no question. If they weren't, they're being negligent. That said, my thinking JJ is a just not good enough to trade picks for or even rate at 6.

He's seemingly a great young man with leadership skills to boot, but overvalued here. I've been consistent and would take an elite wr. But this cake maybe already baked...his comments so.

Quote from: MightyGiants on April 24, 2024, 03:55:22 PMSometimes you can risk going a little lower as different teams have different games, but your point is excellent

That would make a Viking trade probably entertaining at 11 and 24..plus more. But I don't see it. Take the best wr on your board.
