As a corollary, it means that the Giants have squandered more of their CAP on rookie linemen than the other teams.  I'm old enough to remember when the Giants had one of, if not the, best OLs in the league and there were no #1s and one #2.  As Edith Bunker used to sing, "Those were the days.

Quote from: TDToomer on April 23, 2024, 04:59:35 PMWell divorce is expensive so if he needs the money why retire?

But who wants a player whose motivation is making up the money the divorce is costing him?  And then there is the element of the mental and emotional distraction.  It may be harsh, but this makes me want to cut him even more.

Quote from: coggs on April 23, 2024, 09:28:28 AM"....on THEIR terms...." is the key, and I 100% agree.  If think if they felt one of these guys was another Peyton, Brady, Mahomes.  A perennial MVP candidate who will at worst have his team in the play-offs almost every year, they would give up as much as they need to to get him.  Think they view all these guys as, "They will be better than Jones, but not worth selling the farm."

The Giants have never had a QB like that in the Superbowl era.  Just sayin'.

Quote from: Jclayton92 on April 23, 2024, 03:27:11 PMBut why? We have holes everywhere, if we've solved the line, let's solve another problem.

We've solved the line?  When?  Everything you say about Jones counts 10x for the OL, including the fact that we have no idea how each will play this upcoming year.  And the line has been terrible for twice as long as Jones has been a Giant.

Were those the ones at the Polo Grounds days as a kid watchiing? Haha. Just win. Mel Hein  memories no?

I'm old but no more than the solid red jersey days, spider. That's when you could hardly tell who was who when they played the Chicago Cardinals. It wasn't until they started to televise some home games that they decided  that it might be a good idea if one of the teams wore something that looked more like white on b&w tv.

Cheers!

Had to post this because BBI was referenced as the source for a message thread from an insider for ChatSports Giants and thought it was funny.

Quote from: spiderblue43 on April 23, 2024, 07:16:39 PMWow..that Aces marriage busted quickly.  He probably wants to unretire..or maybe play..or whatever. :what:

My thoughts were that he was contemplating retirement to save his marriage but now that it is over perhaps retirement has lost its appeal.

Big Blue Huddle / Waller getting divorced

According to ESPN Waller is divorcing Kelsey Plum, his wife of one year. Normally I don't care about players personal lives but this could directly impact if he plays this year or not.
