I went to Vandy's website and they featured a clip of Belichick checking out their linebacker. No mention of JR.  This says the Giants are looking at Zach too.

I checked out some scouting reports on Holden and Cunningham.
Cunningham has the measurables that draw a lot of attention. But I think he's overrated. He has a good nose for the ball and he does make plays. But he has to be uncovered and he's very blockable. Also,  he's a grab and drag down tackler. No suddenness to his game. He has terrific range but he can't effectively work through trash. Reports indicated that he uses his shoulders too much and His Hands not enough.  he lets blockers get into his chest too easily.  also he's tall at six foot four which is good, but unfortunately he plays tall and has a high pad level which negates his length. Seems like he will be best positioned on the outside at the next level. Thinking a lot will depend how he responds to coaching? Reportedly, looks like a top half of the 2nd Rd. Selection.

As for Holden a Tackle Prospect. Big guy, short arms. Lacking kick slide for the left tackle position strictly a right tackle Prospect methinks. Reportedly has heavy feet. Has good core strength and has sufficient punch. Tough kid, real competitor.Holden has the nasty streak u look for in an OL says his Coach. Can't teach size, Holden is 6' - 7" 312 lbs.
Struggles adjusting to stunts and twists. Reportedly a mid-round selection. You just never know, with good coaching & time,  a guy like this could develop into starter material?

Will Cunningham last until their 2nd round pick?

Cunningham is being talked about as a top half of round 1 pick.  Looking at reports on him, the thing that jumped out at me is the high number of missed tackles.  Never good to have a LB who can't tackle

My guess is that the Giants' are just doing their due diligence and checking out all the players who are highly rated. And sometimes they're actually interested in another player on the team and sometimes it might be a smokescreen to screw with the heads of other teams to lead them astray of their real intentions come draft day. In the grand scheme of things, I don't think it means much.

JBG,

Those two guys I have listed are the only 2 from the team that are considered to be draft worthy
