Quote from: madbadger on April 25, 2024, 10:32:45 PMWe have needs at guard, running back, corner, defensive tackle and safety. Who do you guys want? 47 might be too early for running back as you can usually find a good one in the third round or later. At guard I could see a reluctance to keep throwing first and second round picks at the problem. My guess would be corner or defensive tackle.

I agree with the part in bold

Quote from: uconnjack8 on Today at 07:08:20 AMGuess they didnt have McCarthy or the other QBs left rated as high as the media or some fans.

Or the Giants are higher on Jones and Lock than many fans

Quote from: Trench on April 25, 2024, 10:24:10 PMI am not sure so I'll ask - isn't Slayton being paid like a #1 or 2 WR?....if so that is a problem if he doesnt get looks

He's being paid like a number 3 WR.  I think the challenge in trading him is that it's such a strong WR draft class

Big Blue Huddle / Re: Will DJ Be Better With Nabers?

Quote from: Philosophers on April 25, 2024, 10:07:33 PMIf Nabers makes DJ a top 10 QB I will be jacked as I like DJ.  If he throws for 2,500 yards, 16 TDs, 9 INTs and is sacked 60+ times, I will really wonder about this pick.

If the line proves adequate, the receiving trio of Nabers, Hyatt, and Robinson should finally give DJ his first set of NFL-caliber receivers since he got to the NFL.

If Jones can stay healthy and he can overcome the trauma of last season, then there is a potential for Jones to be a top-10 guy

Quote from: madbadger on April 25, 2024, 10:05:31 PMIf history is any guide only one or two will really hit. Looking at the situation I'd say the Bears have really set Williams up well. The rest are going to struggle for a couple years.

I think the Broncos and Bo could be a good fit and successful

History says, at best, only half succeed.  So which 3 do you see being hits in their new situations

Bears and Williams

Commanders and Daniels

Pats and Maye

Atlanta and Penix

Vikings and JJ

Broncos and Bo

The Giants can't keep players healthy, so valuable depth.   Still, wouldn't shock me if the Giants make a trade to pick up some extra draft capital

I read this thread and thought I was wrong about the negativity.   Then, the pick was made

Joe Schoen said the Giants are done for the night. There aren't QBs left to trade back into the first round anyway...
