Big Blue Huddle / Must. Not. O. Ver. Re. Act
September 11, 2023, 07:09:28 PM
It is one game.  Relax. I can't believe me of all people has to be the voice of reason.  Yes, last night sucked.  I was there.  Left after the D*ll*s TD in 3rd quarter.  I just do not understand why they practically abandoned the run after the first drive when they ran the ball effectively during the opening drive.  AND, D*ll*s's weakness on D is stopping the run up the middle.  Also thought Jones should have been taken out in the 3rd.  But, whatever.  Beat Arizona.

Big Blue Huddle / Schedule Day-May 11th
May 04, 2023, 12:29:48 PM
One of my favorite days of the year.  Rumors about Giants-Eagles on black friday, but nobody on the rumor has a location for that game.  Have seen what I would call as speculation for the Jets game to be on MNF on 9/11.

Not sure if there are any cordcutters in here. I was, but eventually went back.  YES, starting today will be available as a standalone app directly to the consumer, without a subscription to a cable/satellite provider.  $24.99/mo or $249/year.  I am not a Yankee fan, so have no use for it.  There was talk of MSG doing to the same with MSG GO.  If they do and SNY follows suit, I will have no need to keep Spectrum's tv service.

Big Blue Huddle / Lousy ending, but...
January 23, 2023, 10:22:06 AM
I am happy with the season.  I have been MIA from here because early in the season things at work were a bit hectic and I didn't have time.  By the time things settled down, they were 4-1/5-1.  I thought, "watch, I will sing their praised and it will fall apart."  When they were winning early, I couldn't help but think of the 2004 season.  I know, different story.  Sacrificed the season to break-in Eli.  Honestly, as I was watching Saturday night, I was not even mad.  Just shook my head and thought, "they are just better."  Good season, now keep building.

I see the top needs as LB, IOL, LB, WR, LB.  Was taking with a friend yesterday about all the draft experts beliefs.  "Don't take LBs early as you can find good LBs later in the draft".  Is a popular piece of rhetoric I often hear.  Well, why haven't the Giants been able to do so?  The last good LB they drafted was Jessie Armstead in 1993.  Sorry, not calling guys like Goff, and Griessen "good".  Same with iOL. Anyone who wants to downplay their importance should watch the Eagles OL work.

Last night, Jay Brue hit a HR against the Cards in the 10th innings. Cards manager appealed that Bruce missed 1st base.  Then, came out and spoke to the 1st base umpire about doing a crew review (Cards had already lost their challenge).  Umpire agreed.  When they showed the replay, it was obvious he touched the base.  His whole foot stepped on top of the base.  It wasn't a question about just nipping the corner of the bag as he turned or anything like that.  Keith and Gary thought it was nuts that the ump entertained it and should have stuck with his call when it was that obvious.

My thinking is Matheny knew the umpire did not look to see if Bruce touched the bag and said it when he went out to talk to him.
