Big Blue Huddle / NGT - Is Justin Herbert good?
October 23, 2023, 02:45:34 PM
Saw a stat today that said Herbert has more losses since he entered the league than any other active QB.  Have also noticed that he's been injured a bit as well.  I've not followed the Chargers much so I don't know about their OL other than I know they got a good one in Slater a few years back.  I do know they have some elite weapons in Ekeler and Keenan Allen.

Anyway, for the past few years I've felt he's been overrated- that I hadn't really seen a ton from him even though he's obviously got the arm strength to spare.  He certainly doesn't seem to be winning like he was expected to.  I know quite a few folks on this board really like him and wished we had waited a year to draft our QB in order to get him so I thought it would be interesting to check in with folks and see what they thought of the guy.  I watched a bit of the LA-KC game this past weekend and honestly Herbert left a lot of plays on the field, IMO.

So- thoughts?

Saw this question on Twitter and found the responses to be really interesting to look through.  So, let's do it two ways:

1)  Which NFL player from any team would you choose to have an injury-free career, to see what could have been?
2)  Which Giant would you choose to have an injury-free career?

My answers:
1)  Gotta go with Bo Jackson.  Would love to see what he could have done.  My honorable mention goes to Lavar Arrington.  Outside of LT, he was the most physically dominant LB I've ever seen- I think he could have been a wrecking ball for many years to come if he had avoided injury.
2)  Odell Beckham Jr.  Although I'm not sure his personality would have helped keep him in NY or not- I do really wonder what this guy could have done if he had stayed in NY and stayed healthy for an entire career.  Just an undeniable talent.

Big Blue Huddle / Eric Bienemy

After watching another round of HC hiring go by and only seeing his name associated with other COORDINATOR positions, I honestly wonder what is happening here?  Is there any insight out there as to why this obviously qualified guy has not gotten a HC gig yet?  Seems crazy to me.

Thoughts/Reactions?  As you can imagine it's picked up some steam, particularly from some 49ers.

Big Blue Huddle / What I think we will see tonight
January 21, 2023, 11:01:28 AM
First of all- Let's GOOOOO!!!!  Ok now that that's out of my system, here's what's running through my brain today, what I think we'll see:

-Full-Speed, playoff-level intensity from Saquon Barkley tonight.  He is going to go all out this evening, my friends, and I'm here for it.
-Long, sustained drives by the Giants, with multiple conversions on DJs legs
-Dallas Goedert having a BIG day
-The BEST INDIVIDUAL MATCHUP of the entire playoffs, including whoever ends up in the Super Bowl- Sexy Dexy vs. Kelce.  Dexter has been a man possessed and Kelce is a STUD.  I'm actually a bit down on our defensive output tonight simply because if there is anyone that can slow Dexter down, it's Kelce.  Regardless, it's gonna be a heavyweight fight I'm dying to see.

I think, outside of Andy Reid and his staff, we have the best coaches in the entire league.  I think Saquon will play great and I think DJ could have an outstanding game.  However, I hate to say it but those immense positives may not matter if Jalen Hurts is fully healthy and plays back to his MVP form.  If Hurts does this, I just think we simply don't have the firepower on the offensive side to keep up.  We have no AJ Browns or Devonta Smiths.  So, early on if it looks like Hurts is not 100%, or rusty, or whatever, we're going to have a really great shot at winning this.  But if he comes out firing on all cylinders the Eagles will prevail.

Should be a great game to watch.  LET'S GOOOOOOO!!!!!!

I'm really looking forward to learning a lot more about this team tomorrow.  It's all in front of them.  In front of a home crowd.  Can they execute and put the nail into the Colts coffin?  Will the coaches shrink or step up and be aggressive?  Will DJ lead this team to what should be a convincing playoff clinching win???

I'm going to a bar with my wife, oldest daughter, and Dad to watch tomorrow- I am praying for a convincing win that truly shows this team belongs in the playoffs!!!
