Quote from: Jolly Blue Giant on January 02, 2024, 10:30:41 AMI don't think it has anything to do with NIL money, but rather the new coach from the University of Georgia who was the nation's leading recruiter for the last several years. He's brought a lot of players from Georgia with him because he is that popular with the players. He also hails from New Jersey and was deeply involved with high school sports throughout the state and everyone knew him (including Ohio State's QB, Kyle McCord who was personal friends with Kyle's parents). Apparently he's some kind of recruiting guru. I just hope he coaches as well as he recruits

The big NIL provider for Syracuse has been billionaire Adam Weitsman (owner of the largest recycling and scrap metal processing company in the state, perhaps the northeast). Although, a few months ago there was an article that he would no longer be providing NIL money. I don't know if that is true or not  :-?? He had paid significant money to the basketball program in the last couple of years and is a huge Orange fan

Its always about the money

We seem to be talking about 5th or possibilities on how to get to picking 2d?   Are they the only two scenarios?  No 3d or 4th??

Quote from: Jclayton92 on December 23, 2023, 01:55:23 PMI like Fuaga better than Fashanu because he is a pure RT prospect.

And he is a mauler with a nasty streak

Quote from: Jolly Blue Giant on December 22, 2023, 01:27:33 PMOne of my fears is that we grab the top OT. And like Neal, who made his bones playing the left side of the line, so are the top OT's in this draft, all who have made their bones on the left side: ie,, Alt, Fashanu, Latham, Mims, etc., and they will likely go in the top 20 picks. Do we really want to take a chance on another "great" LT and assume he will transfer to RT without a hitch? Difficult to know

Jolly

Please double check

Latham, Mims and Fuega are RT

Quote from: Painter on December 17, 2023, 08:54:38 PMIt's known as a lack of talent in 3 of 5 positions at best- and that is when Thomas is healthy- and by no means is it, nor has it been something new where the Giants are concerned. And yet, only now does it seem that more folks may be ready to join the few of us who have been pressing the issue seemingly in vain. And by all means let's be clear, if they don't add the talent needed to significantly improve the Oline's performance, it won't matter who's calling signals at the team's "most important position".

Cheers!

By my profile I have made 5065 posts to BBH--Conservatively perhaps 5000 of those have been about our inept OL--I think we are all preaching to the choir

How the hell can so many fans be so wrong about the team that they root for?

I cant go on any more about the state of our OL

The team we played today is NOT a defensive juggernaught--they were NOT the terror of the league in the sack or pressure dept  but we made them look like the 85 Bears or like some of the Giants premier Defensive teams

I dont even want to put my name to this post

Quote from: Torus34 on December 16, 2023, 07:50:06 AMHi, Dumpster Dan!

Right now, the New Jersey Giants fans have something to lift their spirits. The team's won three straight. There's a QB who seems to be improving rather than doing the retro cha-cha. The team itself is taking the field with a 'Can do!' attitude. And there's your OP, doom 'n gloomin' it.

C'mon, man. Smile. It may not last, but in sports, nothing's forever.

Go flag free, Big Blue!

If there is ANYTHING that can turn me off quicker than being accused of doom and gloomin it, on BBH, I dont know what it is

I'll just let it go that you have no damn clue what I am taking about-  everyone deserves a second chance
