Big Blue Huddle / Dumpster Diving--AJ Klein
November 17, 2022, 10:35:04 AM
Do we want AJ Klein back?  He was signed off our PS by the Ravens  and then traded to the Bears in the Roquan Smith trade--now the Bears have cut him after two games.

I truly understand both sides of the Daniel Jones as QB going forward for the Giants. At least both sides that are based on facts and opinions--I am not interested in those very strong opinions that are based on the selection by DG and the very strong dislike by some of DG.Its too late for that

I have stated my opinion here on BBH--I want DJ to continue as our QB  going forward.and that leads me to my question  because I keep asking myself--am I being objective when I say I want DJ?  Am I basing my opinion on performance, value, potential, leadership, winning, and all the other factors that should go into my decision.

Or am I being short sighted and just want DJ because of the gender (age) situation that prevails on any talk site like BBH??  Do I want DJ because I dont want to go through another change at QB?  I think I speak for a few of us here when I say that while it may be easy for the majority on BBH to say--DJ must go --we need to start over because if I was in my forties I could see myself saying that.  Hell, why not?  I got time.  But when you are a true senior--I am not talking about the commonly recognized senior who is 65 years old or so--I am talking about a true senior--85 and older. Why would I want to put myself through another three to five years of change when I dont know if I will see the New Year?   Rough but fact.

I think I look at the situation as best I can based on what I have seen so far-I ask all of you--How long do you think it will be before Lawrence leads the Jags to the Super Bowl? I would not be surprised if it turns out to be  "not in my lifetime"

And I believe that there ISN't a Trevor Lawrence in this years upcoming draft  and IF there was how would we get him?  So   if I start over--when will I see my Giants in the Super Bowl???

So again--I am asking myself--am I being honest in my evaluation?  Or am I just taking the easy way out?

Conversely I ask--those of you who want to move on from DJ--now--how would you feel and evaluate if you were in my shoes?  Is it easier for you guys to say--we are in a rebuild and we need a complete rebuild?

I UNDERSTAND that I am assuming a lot here--for example  I have never discussed this subject with Jim V or Lenn for example--they both could want to move on from DJ for all I know

As I end this rant  I am asking all of us--to please try to remain civil as we discuss ad infinitum this delicate subject--There may be no right or wrong as far as fans know--its why we need to trust our management fully--as much as I will not look forward to 3-5 years of rebuilding--I will trust and follow the plan as best I can

In the meantime--6-2  has rejuvenated me--I am so grateful that the team I have lived and died for all these 81 years has given me hope--what more can I ask for?--it is after all just a game--two great grandchildren and a third due in March will do that for me--but one of those great grandchildren is already wearing a Giant bib.

How great is it that for me--when I see an upside down world that I see some semblance of order and cohesiveness and professionalism in my team that has been so dysfunctional these past several years?

If I could give a rational explanation for this diatribe I would--but please rest assured--that I think I am still of sound mind--LMAO!!!  and I can assure you--I live in a facility where many of my associates do NOT have a BBH where they can go and sound off and not be afraid that someone will send for the Paddy Wagon

Be well everyone--and again==please enjoy your relationships on this wonderful site--you will know what I am talking about for many of you 20 and 30 years from now

I hope I havent turned all of you off

Big Blue Huddle / NGT--Bears=Packers--Claypool
November 02, 2022, 09:51:08 AM
Yesterday when I heard that the Bears had traded for Claypool it didnt make any sense to me since the Bears had been sellers--already having traded away one of their best players,

Then I read that the Packers were also involved in the Claypool discussions with the Steelers.  The Packers had offered a second round pick---the Bears jumped in, offered a second and landed Claypool  since the Steelers figured the Bears second will be higher next draft than the Packers.

Evidently the Bears-Packers rivalry extends to the trading market

So the Bears got Claypool and a 6th for Saquon Smith????  Talk about overpaying
