I had three hockey practices yesterday and missed the game; I do enjoy reading your write ups.   

Proud Dad moment, my 14 year old freshman decided to school choice to a neighboring school district for high school to play hockey with the kids he grew up playing, also a significantly better program.  Despite being a guaranteed 4-year letter winner in our home districts very poor hockey coop he left for the unknown and a most certain spot on JV.  

Last night,  I was told he just missed making 2nd line but made varsity as the 3rd line center. The kid is a 125 lb 5'6" undersized 14 year old playing 14-19 year olds; this should be interesting.  

Love the fact he took a chance and went for the unknown; couldn't be prouder!

Back to the Rangers: 

With only 1 game over the next 8 days and 2 games over the next 10 days it will be interesting to see how healthy they can get and if they can take on the Devils with a high intensity level of play.  

I have read the practices this year are much more intense than last year but they are given more days off from physical practice as a trade off and have more film and strategy sessions. 

I am hopeful Laviolette can keep them intense and focused. 

I was thinking 35 at first and laughed to myself that probably isn't enough. Ill go  42

Dallas was beyond surprising. 

I expected a passionate, fired up team to build off last year and play with a purpose on their home field.  To be 100% unprepared when there was so much to play for was horrible.

and then there was the Raiders Game


Getting blown out in such a lopsided affair by an underachieving, down in the dumps franchise that just fired their coach after the loss to the Jets was very telling about what this team is. The Giants first 3 drives to star the game were a disgrace (turn over on downs, sacks to end up in 3rd and 27, and a 3 and out).  Jones comeback game with everything to play for, seeing TT handle the reality of the offense much better than he had been to date came out looking like crap again only to get knocked out.   No urgency, no will, no desire; just more horrible uninspired, passionless football from the leader on down.

Just horrible.   

I honestly thought the team looked half way decent vs buffalo and could turn the season around off that game despite the loss.

Let's hope the embarrassment doesn't force Mara into any rash decisions

Get a new RT,  guard and start developing the line .

Next year jones is QB1 , while draft pick gets acclimated .

More importantly while line develops .

Raise jones value and trade him for anything or release him at end of 2024 season and eat 20 mill in dead cap for 2025.

Start new qb in year 2 (2025 season)

The Giants need a QB and the Qb needs more than Thomas and the hope of developing our center.  There must get a competent and effective RT and another Guard.

Harrison will be a stud for sure but no one needs a WR when you do not have a QB and a line.

Aside from three seasons ago the past 10 years has been rough.
I completely agree RE: Hastings, the exciting style of play is unbelievable, the team bye in and how its' defined by out hustling the opponent.  The Badgers out work the opponent at both ends of the ice in every facet of the game.  After the past two seasons and 

Michigan was more talented, but they simply were outworked.

Missed the blue shirts but saw it was 5-0 at one point.

Agreed, but he is does well as an OC. His next employer will not have to worry about him leaving for a HC job either.

Like every single Rangers fan I felt good when they were up 3-0 in the first period, but I had a feeling the Wild would not just roll over. You are correct, the pride in Minnesota is second to none, they are the epicenter of youth hockey for the US, rivaled by only the Boston area.
Most communities in Minnestoa have a community center with two full sheets of ice, some as many as 14 full sheets.

We travel to twin cities area for select hockey all spring and most of the summer.

I was at the badger vs Michigan game Saturday but checked the score and saw the Rangers were up 3-0 and was thrilled. Checked when I got home after a completely thrilling badger win with .06 sec left, to see the Rangers were going to OT.

The streak was bound to end at some point.

Let's see how the blue shirts rebound for the Red Wings tomorrow.

A horrible way for his season to end. Was hoping he could make the most of the remaining games and secure the QB position.

69 mill in dead cap next year almost certainly keeps him on the roster.  

IMO, if he comes back,  He will play and take the brunt of the line development.  

The new QB will take over once the line comes together, will that be mid season 24/25 of to start the 25/26 season.
