Chalk Talk / Re: Observations from today's practice

I was expecting Wheeler to step up and challenge Flowers for the ORT job. From everything I've read it appears as though he's had a terrible camp. He better get going during preseason, his roster spot is far from secure.

False alarm, Beal is now on the exercise bike

Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk

Renamed by the Giants the Osi bike, we need to face reality the kids done for the year, we can pretend he's red shirting  if that helps ease the pain. The bottom line is DG needs to burning the phones trying to get an accomplished Cornerback, Teddy Williams, BW Webb, Curtis Riley Et al. are scrubs or put a nicer way other teams UDFA practice squad players. They Giants can't screw around and obviously it's slim pickings. I want either DRC or Bashaud Breeland, hopefully both are healthy.

I've been championing McDermott for two months, he'll be our Mike Tomlin right down to the William and Mary pedigree.

Great job GO, it's great having a board historian, you would have made Christopher Allen proud.

Any thoughts on  Laurent Duvernay-Tardif? He seems to be getting a lot of attention, he's out of McGill which is Canada's Harvard or Englands Cambridge, not much competition but very bright, a medical student with apparantly good skills. I've seen him as high as a 3rd rounder in some mocks. I heard someone on the NFL network say that he's the biggest sleeper in the draft and that he'd be an excellent OLT for years in the NFL.

The greatest RB in Giants history is also the most disliked player in Giants history, I don't even need to type his name.

Pro Football Weekly draft analyst Nolan Nawrocki: Amukamara slid in large part because of concerns teams had about his perceived quirky personality and questions about how well he would fit into an NFL locker room. Many teams shy away from cornerbacks without interceptions, but the Giants, a value-driven team, recognized his worth and added depth to a battered secondary. He lacks ideal downfield ball skills, but he excels in short areas and could be a solid press corner for the Giants' aggressive defense.

This is utter nonsense, he slipped because so many teams need a QB or a DE to get to the QB. This is simply one of those drafts that broke right for the Giants, period.

love it.  How can you not?  We get a top 10 player.

This is also good news for Aaron Ross who will be freed up to train with his girlfriend.

Totally agree, this kid didn't drop because of concerns or issues but rather because so many teams were desperate for QB's and pass rushers. You don't look a gift horse in the mouth. Everyone him going in the top 10. This is a great pick.

Don, I lay claim to some Rhodey legacy. Although I'm native New Yorker who's live in NJ the last 14 years, I was transferred to run the RI sales office for my company. I lived in a cool little town called East Greenwhich from 93-95 and my office was first in Warwick and then moved to East Providence. I was their during Providence's Buddy Renaissance; I had a great time.
