Daniel Jones has played a total of five seasons in the NFL.

In the two seasons he had a decent offensive line, ranked 18th and 17th, he had his best years.

In 2022 when the O line performed about average, he posted 3,900 total yards which included his rushing stats, and a QBR of 60.2 which ranked 6th, and a 92.3 RTG which ranked 13th.

I hear that you are saying the Giants weren't a good team in 2022, but the fact that he posted those kinds of numbers on a bad team, and helped them make the playoffs, what would happen if he was actually on a good team?

For instance, the Giants have added an elite #1 WR, and if they upgrade the O line from 30th to say around 15th, do you think Daniel Jones' stats will improve? and will the Giants begin to win again?
This sounds like a conversation between Mara and Schoen.

Quote from: Stringer Bell on April 25, 2024, 09:25:53 PMObviously not being that Penix went before JJ, and Minn only needed to trade a 4th and 5th.
The Giants picked 6th, there was no way Minn knew it would unfold that way at that point. No doubt there was an offer sitting there. IMHO

Really good player....but we need A LOT OF THEM.

Could've collected a Kings RANSOM from the Vikings or the Broncos.

Oh ye of little faith!

The Knicks are living rent free in Nurse and Embiid's head.

That combined with our NEVER SAY DIE mindset, I'm feeling VERY GOOD about tonight.

Are you watching the Knicks @ Philly - Game 3?

Or

The NFL Draft?

Personally I'm locked to the MSG channel watching the Knicks while monitoring my Giants app for Draft coverage.

Honestly, I'll probably be clicking during commercial breaks.

Potentially a GREAT NIGHT FOR NY SPORTS.

Let's GOOOOOOOOO!!!!

My dream scenario is us being offered and accepting the Denver trade that's been reported.

Big Blue Huddle / Philly & Saquon - Tampering?
April 22, 2024, 06:32:50 PM
I'm seeing some reports that assert Philly tampering to get Saquon and may be looking at forfeiture of a draft pick?

A) does anyone know if it's true?

And

B) would we not be the recipient of the pick in question because if they tampered it would have to be while he was still under contract?

What say you?

My interest in trading down hinges on two things:

1) The trading partner offers a top 12-15 pick

and

2) We get a 1st rounder next year as part of the trade.

If they can achieve those two objectives, I'm all in on a trade down.

Quote from: nb587 on April 15, 2024, 05:00:00 PMI think that a quality OL and a decent running game had alot to do with Simms avoiding injuries as he got older.  It didn't hurt that Parcells turned him away from being a gunslinger into a game manager.  In his early years, behind a terrible OL, Simms would stand in the pocket waiting for weak WRs to get open on deep patterns, a recipe for injuries
Gotta disagree.

Even in our SB years Phil would take his share of poundings. He took a good beating through most of his career.

I agree that Parker and Phil's dedication to bulking up and staying in top shape were the difference in his ability to avoid major injury and play through being hurt like few that I've seen.

Taylor, Banks, Carson, Simms and Bavaro were warriors who stood out to me in that vein.

I believe he could be a rotational edge AND a center fielder.

Well I was thinking that by the trading deadline, most of the guaranteed $$ would be accounted for or could be restructured by the team trading for him.

There are a few thirsty teams out there...so that was my thinking on it.

Whether we draft a QB in the 1st round or not.

Do you believe that trying to find a team desperate enough for a Quarterback with whom to trade DJ is the appropriate move?

50 wins and the 2nd seed....Brunson scores 40 to insure the victory in OT.

This team is more fun to watch than any version  I've seen in years.

Quote from: DaveBrown74 on April 13, 2024, 10:17:39 AMI dislike Dolan just as much as the next guy, but it's hard not to throw some credit his way for the Leon Rose hire.

I would also add that his other team, the NY Rangers, currently have the best record in the NHL with the regular season about to end. The Rangers were also in the Stanley Cup Finals less than a decade ago.

I can think of owners who have gotten way worse results with their teams over the past decade, and you don't have to look very far to find them.
More than fair points.

My point was that he's always been able to attract FO & Coaching talent. His downfall has often been his willingness to step out of the way and let them do their jobs.

Recently it appears, he's done a much better job of staying in his lane.
