Asking a serious question because I dont remember

Did Daboll have these anger issues in his first year??

Been thinking about this as Daboll is interviewing for a DC today

Why would anyone consider a position with the Giants if Daboll is on such a hot seat according to a couple (if that many)_ writers as well as countless fans that he may be fired if not before the season certainly a possibility during the season if the Giants get off to the expected losing season next year projected by many??

MIght as well get the negativity out there now on Babich before his interview tomorrow

I understand that he grew up a Cowboys fan, has two left feet and is hard of hearing which should help because when Dabes yells at him he wont hear him

Well  here I go again--trying to keep my big mouth shut for a week or more  but because I am old and admit to my own forgetfulness and lack of understanding someone please tell me how many reporters reported on this entire situation.  I am not saying that there wasnt problems within the team--hell I texted the grandsons about that three weeks into the season

But is it to the degree of this post?  Some of you guys it seems to me are taking this to new heights.  Do we really have no faith in JS and even Mara that they wouldnt do something about the situation if they felt needed--I can tell you this.  In my working day as a manager and any of some of you were managers reporting to me and came to me with a report about Daboll such as is written here I would fire Daboll immediately--based on your recommendation

Some of you are portraying, it seems to me, Daboll as a complete control freak--based on ONE reporters stories.

I keep hearing that no coach in his right mind would want to work with or for Daboll   Yet he keeps interviewing

What is going on?   Why have the Giants become the whipping boys for a few writers and reporters?  For example when Bricillo was hired the first thing I read, FROM THE RAIDERS SIDE was that the Giants stole him--he was available ONLY because the Raiders didnt have a HC and it was Pierce who recommended him--he told Bricillo that if the Giants offered he should go.

Now today I am reading that Bricillo has warts all over him. Not a nice guy. Not liked by the players. Has serious deficiences in his coaching style and abilities.  Who to believe?

And then I come on BBH to read about the team I have rooted for since 1941 and I find posts like this.  Whats the use?

Not even three years and we are ready to kick our coach out the door

Not me   but I guess I am in the minority

It wouldnt be the first time

Quote from: LennG on January 19, 2024, 11:52:26 AMPersonally, I think this makes Daboll look a bit more like a HC. He assembled a staff and when something doesn't work out you cut the cord and move on instead of stringing things along.
I couldn't care less why coaches leave or get fired, but when something ain't working, I give the HC a lot of credit for trying to move on and getting it right.
When he assembled his staff, they all looked good on paper, but the game isn't played on paper. Clash of personalities, not on the same page scheme-wise, or just incompetent, the HC has to know when to bring in new people to accomplish his goal. Come on, we see this all the time, even mid-season. IMHO, this is a wise move on Daboll's part.

Right on Len   But how come so many disagree with us???

Because there is SO much to talk about IMHO---like the new OL coach we just hired--we got ourselves a helluva coach and how about some props to Dabs for jumping at the chance to nab him--no hesitation--just an example

But Andrew I totally relaize I do NOT have to read every post  and everyone is entitled to post whatever they want

Big Blue Huddle / Re: Giants Hire Bricillo as OL Coach

Quote from: DaveBrown74 on January 11, 2024, 06:54:05 PMEhhhh... not sure I'm feeling great about this one. Why has this guy not stayed with any job for more than two seasons? These hop-around-every 1-2 years guys can be red flags sometimes. Oftentimes they're either not very good or they have problematic personalities.

It also feels like a really quick hire. That's not necessarily a problem if Daboll has been thinking/planning this for weeks/months, but I just hope there was an actual comprehensive process here, and he didn't just call his buddy that he's comfortable with and likes personally. This is a very important hire, and I hope Daboll took it seriously. Given that the last O line coach (his hire) was clearly not very good and was just a guy he knew well, I can't say I'm super confident here.

But obviously I need to give him a chance. Who knows, maybe he'll be great. I have no idea. I just was hoping we'd

get a more known name or someone who is in strong demand. This is too important a role for cronyism to be a big part of the process. I'm not saying that's definitely the case, but it kind of has that feel to me.

Please Dave, check him out--give yourself a chance to learn something about him   IMHO its a helluva hire

Get back to us after you research him a bit

Quote from: londonblue on January 11, 2024, 04:08:40 AMHe's arguably the hottest young OL coach in the league and he is under contract. Any new HC in Atlanta will be told that Ledford is staying and if they have a brain they really should be delighted to hear it.

I thought that a team could deny interviews only if it was considered a lateral move?   Couldnt the Giants tag on asst coach to his title and make it an upward move?
