I've been super-high on Zinter from day one. But the more I research, the more I discover a lot of analysts aren't high on him at all. Very confusing  :-??

The building shook like there was an earthquake and the sound level so high, it was impossible to hear anyone talk. Ben Stiller, Carmelo Anthony, and a host of others screaming at the top of their lungs and high-fiving...it was bedlam

There are moments in sports history one never forgets (David Tyree's helmet catch, Kirk Gibson's HR to win the game hobbling around the bases when he could barely walk, the "pine tar" bat incident with George Brett, Bill Buckner's ground ball whiff, the 1980 Olympics when the US knocked off Russia, etc.), and last  night was one of them...down 5 with 27 seconds left in the game, then pump out 8 pts in seconds

I started the movie, "Black Sails" on Netflix...4 seasons/38 episodes. A series about pirates who hang out in Nassau when not battling at sea. Not for kids, tons of nudity (full-frontal)/sex/gore/violence, and a great plot. The only thing that bugs me, is that no matter how scroungy the guys dress, they have perfect, braces-straightened, brilliant white teeth. Can't believe they didn't do a better job in make up for more realistic adventure. Regardless, incredibly done with great photography and great scenes. Very realistic

Thanks for posting, Rich - this guy definitely has a different take on players that isn't part of "group think". I enjoyed it very much. In fact, I have come to the conclusion that this weekend I'll be spending a lot of time researching players we drafted that I have never heard of...LOL (happens every year)

PS: also thanks for the all the other stuff you do including copying me on the message board. Greatly appreciated

They drape Brunson and are extra physical with him. Their entire strategy has been to take Brunson out anyway, anyhow. It's amazing he made 24 points. And yeah, it's toughening up the rest of the team. They are true scrappers...and they're young and only going to get better in time. They go to battle when they get on the court. No team wants to play them because they know it's going to be war

My heart is pounding. If I'm not here tomorrow, I probably stroked out. I still can't believe they pulled this game out. Down 4 or 5 with 28 seconds left and they score 8 points for a miracle finish. Still can't believe it!

Madison Square Garden is going insane - Devo the hero

Knicks 104 - Sixers 101 friggin WOW

Quote from: MightyGiants on April 22, 2024, 02:48:52 PMThe funny thing is I remember people being okay with Joseph but they were not happy with Osi in round 2.
Yeah, the 2003 draft was stacked with top notch DTs and that was the position that Giants needed the most. DTs Dewayne Robertson, Johnathan Sullivan, Kevin Williams; Jimmy Kennedy went in the first 12 picks that year. We weren't on the clock until no.25. Joseph was considered "good", but more of a second rounder. Still, I was elated that we got a solid DT...a whew moment for me

When we got Osi, I agreed with Mel Kiper that we "overpaid" and we could have had him a round or two later. I was wrong and learned a lesson about thinking I knew anything of value concerning pre-draft player analysis. I have learned to control my emotions during the draft and accept that I'm not quite as smart as I think I am. Just a fan  :(

I picked Odunze, but that's just fancrap. I want a breakout type of WR, but I recognize my own inadequacies as a prospect analyst. I am putting my full faith in Schoen on this one. However, it probably won't make a difference, because I suspect only one of the top 3 will still be available on Thursday night anyway. I'm so bad at judging WRs that I was disgusted with our pick of OBJ..

I think all three of the top WRs are special in their own way. Whoever we get, I hope he has a great mental connection with DJ. I don't buy the rumor that Nabers has character issues, but if there's even a hint of truth to it, I ended up voting for Odunze. If my prayers are answered, we'll have Harrison fall in our laps. Time will tell

Quote from: londonblue on April 22, 2024, 02:07:50 PMWilliam Joseph shocked me as I was just starting in my draft interest and he was one of my "no way" guys. The least surprising was Saquon as Gettleman might as well have had his name tattooed on his forehead he made it so obvious what he was doing. I was a big fan of AT so I was delighted when we took him.

I was so happy on draft day that we got Joseph...man, what a let-down. He had all the enthusiasm to be the best, as did Ron Dayne. Joseph got his contract, then ate well and fattened up as football became secondary (maybe tertiary) on his "things to do" list. What a huge disappointment. At least Eric Flowers tried, Joseph simply cashed his check and headed to the restaurants, stuffing his face

Big Blue Huddle / If we miss a shot at Trey Benson
April 22, 2024, 12:23:34 PM
Jaylen Wright would be a nice consolation prize. He's ranked pretty high, but I find next to no scuttlebutt on the internet about him - nothing, zilch, nada, nyet. He runs with violence and vision...and turned in a 4.38 at the combine, so he can scoot once free. I don't know about his hands, but he's got a little Walter Payton attitude in his running style. I would not be disappointed if he dressed in Blue and made Met Life his home. Don't get me wrong, I like Benson first and foremost, but so does every other team

The internet has been ablaze this last week or so saying the Giants really want Maye. It's been so widely circulated that I know one thing: Giants are NOT interested in Maye...of course, I could also be eating crow Thursday night. Every rumor out there is nothing more than a red herring and it could have even been spread by the Giants for all we know...and we know nothing

Quote from: MightyGiants on April 22, 2024, 11:52:16 AMWhich first-round pick most surprised you as a Giants fan?

Which first-round pick did you most expect?

Did NOT see that one coming - biggest surprise: Eli Apple (with a shout out to rapper non-star Toney)
Expectations met - no surprise at all: Jeremy Shockey

Worst ever first round pick in my memory: Erick Flowers tried to be it, but he lost out to a tie between Ron Dayne and William Joseph

Edit: forgot about Deandre Baker...he has to be in the "worst pick ever" category!

First time I've heard the Giants' interest in a WR outside the top three. Bigass hands and strong. Had to look up this TJ Palmer guy. Seems to be an under-the-radar type guy for a late round pick, ranked 420th in this year's WR class - maybe the Rodney Dangerfield of WRs. Sounds like a great athlete that is also a project for down the road  :-??

My WR sleeper pick is Jalen Coker from small school Holy Cross https://spectrumnews1.com/ma/worcester/news/2024/03/22/coker-ready-for-nfl-draft

I remember it like it was yesterday. I was at the edge of my seat and the only player I wanted was Eli. I went from extreme disappointment when the draft started, to incredible elation a few minutes later. After my stroke back in 2006, I am not allowed to let myself experience extreme highs and lows...something might pop again. So this upcoming draft, it's que serĂ¡, serĂ¡

We have to see what Jon Runyon will do. He's perfect size, athletic, 26 yrs old w/ 5 years of experience. It also has a lot to do with Carmen Bricillo. For all we know, Runyon might be the next Shaun O'Hara, only bigger. They even look somewhat alike (which means nothing, I know). For all we know, we might already have the long term solution at LG. I'm more interested in seeing how Bricillo coaches up this unit

Runyon

O'Hara
