Quote from: Jolly Blue Giant on March 27, 2024, 10:02:39 AMI watched "Poor Things" on Hulu last night, starring Emma Stone. Weird is an understatement - creepy might be a better definition.

I would not suggest it unless you're into heavy erotica mixed with Frankenstein. I was going to give up on it after 10 minutes, but then had nothing else to watch or do, so I ended up watching the whole thing.

That's been done before, kind of, and in 3-D. 1973 Andy Warhol's Frankenstein was both gory and erotic....and gross.  :surprise:

A man went to confession in St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
'Father', he confessed, 'it has been one month since my last confession. I had sex with Fanny Green twice last month.'
The priest told the sinner, 'You are forgiven. Go out and say three Hail Mary's.'

Soon thereafter, another man entered the confessional. 'Father, it has been two months since my last confession. I've had sex with Fanny Green twice a week for the past two months.'
This time, the priest questioned, 'Who is this Fanny Green?'
'A new woman in the neighborhood,' the sinner replied.
'Very well,' sighed the priest. Go and say ten Hail Mary's.

At mass the next morning, as the priest prepared to deliver the sermon, a tall, voluptuous, drop-dead gorgeous redheaded woman entered the sanctuary. The eyes of every man in the church fell upon her as she slowly sashayed up the aisle and sat down right in front of the priest. Her dress was green and very short, and she wore matching, shiny emerald-green shoes.
The priest and the altar boy gasped as the woman in the green dress and matching green shoes sat with her legs spread slightly apart, but just enough to realize she wasn't wearing any underwear.
The priest turned to the altar boy and whispered, 'Is that Fanny Green?'
The bug-eyed altar boy couldn't believe his ears but managed to calmly reply,
'No Father, I think it's just a reflection from her shoes'.

I've been trying to guess what the Giants will do on draft day but it just makes my brain hurt. There's too many ways this can unfold and it doesn't make sense for me to try to make sense of it. I'll just concentrate my time on other things until they actually are on the board and then, hopefully, be satisfied or at least pleasantly surprised.

Camp body, or Swing Tackle keeping Neal at RT, and pushing Eluemunor to Guard?

Last night I was looking for something really light to watch. Bingo! I stumbled on The Detectorists, a mildly funny, quirky British comedy about... "the lives of two eccentric metal detectorists, who spend their days plodding along ploughed tracks and open fields, hoping to disturb the tedium by unearthing the fortune of a lifetime."

Exactly the type of show that would never even be considered for a run on US TV, which is perfect for me and right up my alley. Pluto, Tubi, and Freevee all have the first 3 seasons available.

Quote from: Ed Vette on March 20, 2024, 01:28:24 PMits interesting and some dark humor or dry humor. I saw two episodes so far.
That's a series I should probably check out sometime. My bro-in-law and sis-in-law drove up from Santa Barbara today and SIL gave me a couple recommendations - The Righteous Gemstones and Jury Duty. Her recs are typically pretty spot on with what I would enjoy, so I'll probably give them a go.

Quote from: Jolly Blue Giant on March 20, 2024, 01:47:38 PMCall me a freak if you want, but every now and then I like to watch a rom-com. Need a break from killing, nudity, and car stunts every now and then. So last night I watched "Irish Wish" (Lindsay Lohan) - be careful what you wish for... and "Holiday in the Wild" (Rob Lowe & Kristin Davis) - a couple with a teenage son going off to college, and they have tickets to Africa for their second honeymoon, only for the wife to be told her husband is leaving her two days before takeoff, so off to Africa on her own. Both on Netflix

Cute movies...good to watch with your wife or girlfriend. I've been pretty down on Lindsay Lohan lately, but she seems to have all her baggage left behind her and she is a good actress in rom-coms

Which brings me to a question that one of you guys might answer: In the past, female thespians were known as "actresses" and males, "actors"...yet for the last year or so, it seems the term "actress" is no longer used. Is it because of the woke culture that doesn't wish to identify gender in acting??? Just wondering if I'm the only one who notices it  :-??

I haven't noticed, Ric. But then again I can be pretty slow on the up-take.

I finished the first season of the political drama, The Diplomat on Netflix last night. Thoroughly enjoyed this one, and it's easy to see why lead actress Keri Russell was nominated for an Emmy Award.  It also stars Michael McKean (Better Call Saul), as the POTUS, and Rufus Sewell, who I knew I'd seen before but couldn't place him. Had to look him up and then it clicked, (The Man in the High Castle).
Netflix has announced a second season will air later this year. I can't wait. Recommended.

Quote from: Ed Vette on March 20, 2024, 07:53:59 AMDid anyone watch 6 feet under?

I have a friend that used to get together and have watch parties with friends when this show was first aired. She absolutely loved the show. I've never seen it though.

Quote from: T200 on March 18, 2024, 09:52:50 AMMy hopes for the season are squarely on his coaching and the production from the offensive line. I'm looking forward to a significant boost in pass protection and run blocking.

I would love to see Singletary outrush Saquon.  :ok:

Over the weekend Patty Traina had a very interesting interview with Raiders beat writer Hondo Carpenter discussing this very subject. Perhaps the easiest interview she's ever done. If the things he said about Bricillo are true, fans are going to love him. For those who haven't seen this take the time and watch the interview.

Quote from: Ed Vette on March 16, 2024, 09:12:48 AMWe started it this week too. I like Tia Leone since Family Man.

Is she in this, or are you thinking of Madam Secretary?

Quote from: MightyGiants on March 15, 2024, 06:28:48 PMWe had a major technical problem late this afternoon.  The site is running now, but I am not comfortable with how I got it up and running (the site is now throwing massive error messages, and I fixed that by turning off the error messages).   If it crashes again, it could be down for days, and there may be a need for major repairs etc

Please note, if things go south I will update the BBH Twitter and BBH Facebook to keep everyone updated.

BBH Facebook? I searched for BBH and Big Blue Huddle but came up blank. Can you explain?

I don't do Twitter/X.
