If they come out running the ball up the middle or a swing pass, the remote is gonna hit the tv.

I keep telling myself, win or lose the Giants win.

The decent thing for the Giants to do would be to cut Campbell. He might do well with the Chiefs or Buffalo.

I don't know what Parris Campbell did to wind up in the Dog House but the Giants sure miss Richie James.

That Raider Defense is looking scary. Mahomes tying to carry the team around him which is being dominated at the LOS and in the Secondary. Pierce has done a nice job Turning them around.

Quote from: Painter on December 25, 2023, 11:38:29 AMLet's see now. Which "Franchise" QB do we see having a fair shot at winning the next Super Bowl, and where was he Drafted? I suppose we might start with Josh Allen who went 7th overall, followed by Patrick Mahomes, a 10th pick, and then at 32, Lamar Jackson, the last of the 1st Rounders.

I guess we should then include Jalen Hurts, Rd 2(53), and Dak Prescott, Rd 4(135) and, of course, no doubt, 7th Round (262nd) pick, Brock Purdy.

Hmm! A wink is as good as a nod. Know what I mean? nudge nudge.

In any case, Our Heroes won't be looking QB in Round 1. If they are to admit their mistake, it won't be until 2025.

Cheers!

I'm about 80% committed to Bo Nix. If he drops to the second round which I doubt, he should be given consideration. They may very well pass on a QB in the first round.

Is there any team drafting behind the Giants that needs a QB? Just a couple of ifs. Az has a second pick and the Raiders might be based on how O'Connell finishes out.

The Bears will trade out of one spot.

Quote from: MightyGiants on December 25, 2023, 09:36:58 AMTo really drive home the point for the need for advanced college education, here is an except of a moderately technical discussion of hamstring injuries.   If you read it, you could see why you need to have a college education that matches your occupation:

So you don't believe there's been any continuing education...

Quote from: DaveBrown74 on December 25, 2023, 09:29:38 AMIf they don't draft a QB, do you think they'll restructure Jones' contract to get that 2024 cap hit down and lock themselves in for more years?
I don't.

Quote from: DaveBrown74 on December 25, 2023, 09:21:15 AMTo be abundantly clear, and just speaking for myself, I am only "hell-bent" on drafting a QB if our front office legitimately believes said prospect has a strong chance of being a top end starter in this league. Otherwise I have no interest. I have said this over and over again in multiple threads. So it's only "at all costs" if Schoen and his team have done extensive due diligence, far and beyond what even the most astute fans are capable of, and the opportunity to actually get said QB is possible.

So actually, I won't be "very unhappy" if we don't draft a QB, because I will take that to mean our front office and scouts were not fully sold on whoever was available. Or it will mean that one wasn't available even if we liked him, as there is no guarantee any of these teams will want to trade.

What would make me unhappy is if we are very high on a QB and either don't trade for him, either because Mara gave it the kibosh, or we got sticker shock about the price and can't pull the trigger. But most likely we won't have any way of knowing any of that for sure. If Schoen wanted to do it but Mara wouldn't let him, that is not going to be public info.
I don't believe Schoen would draft a QB without 100% belief in him. He already has DJ under contract. I also don't see Mara having to bless the pick, who knows jack squat about QBs in this draft.

He's been a strength and conditioning coach for 23 years for four colleges including five years at Harvard and then for three NFL teams.
